ok you got me, im the delly

btw i know i might have been playing in poland right now if it wasnt for the cavs but boy are they a bunch of idiots for not retaining me especially on the long term deal in 2015

I wonder if Milwaukee, under truth serum, would extend Delly that same offer if they had a crystal ball that allowed them to see how Delly has played coupled with Brogdon's development..

I'm not so sure the answer would be "yes". Maybe they still extend an offer, but maybe its not 4/36....maybe its 4/25...or 3/20, or somewhere in between. Maybe the Cavs match at $6-7Mil/year instead of 9...

Delly's shooting has been very very bad. He really struggles with all things scoring without the benefits of constant wide open shots/lanes and the passes from LeBron. He runs an offense decently enough though. I thought his assist numbers would pick up a little more than they have though, I mean they're up, but not like I thought they would be. But again, he's not passing to Kyrie/Bron/JR/lobbing to TT.

That hamstring seems to be a regular issue for him as well, he's not very durable. Wears down easily with starters responsibilities/minutes it seems. The one thing nobody is really talking about though....Delly is struggling defensively. I think him trying to take a more pronounced role in the offense coupled with him guarding starters every night for awhile, night in and night out, plus the hamstring of course...it's all combined to have Delly not looking like the guy he was last year.

I'd still take him in a heartbeat though. Still wish we kept him. I think he would be much closer to his peak numbers from last year if he stayed here.

You have to be a pretty good athlete to go so hard all the time you are in. WE even saw with Varejao and even TT that you need to limit an energy guys minutes. We saw it with Delly in the 15 finals too. He has to be on limited minutes for that kind of effort.

Wish him the best. One of my favorite Cavs ever.

You are about to get swept up by ten people citing offensive stats against your position. To those people, I say break out the tape measure for Delly's heart and Deron's heart, then get back to me.

But if Deron Williams starts trying in the playoffs I'm deleting this shit.

Honestly I just don't care how Delly plays for the Bucks. I watched how he played for the Cavs and it was inarguably better than both Deron and Shumpert are playing for us now. Plus he was entirely immune to chill mode. And to that extent he energized people who were in chill mode to exit chill mode.

I know the situation was completely different at the time that Shumpert resigned, but we really kept the wrong guy. I wish we would've salary dumped shump and matched Delly. Would be about 400,000 times more useful

And then there's the rest of us who know that heart and effort are contagious, and that championship teams need the type of guys who give everything they have every single time they step on the court. "Intangibles" are sometimes mocked, but in Delly's case, they really did have value.

The once and future Cavalier.

Do you know something we don’t?

Lol. No. Only that Milwaukee isn't invested in keeping him long-term and regrets the overpay.

Given the woes at back-up PG, and that Deron is likely gone next season, it may make some sense to work out a deal that eventually returns Delly to Cleveland. Probably a three-team trade.

Delly is what he is, and much to Milwaukee's chagrin, that is a lifetime back-up PG. Delly was maximized in Cleveland and both parties know he played, and would play, his best ball with LeBron.

Better chance of Blatt coming back than Delly on his current contract.
