Mike Conley jr.

Speed paired with great ball handling skills equals success when it comes to Mike Conley jr. Long time friend of OSU super-star Greg Oden, Conley has lived in the shadow of the big fellow. They grew up together and eventually went to the same college together, Ohio State University.

Although not much has been said about Conley leaving to go the NBA, the doors are definitely open as the young man played with a combination of skill, speed, and heart throughout the NCAA tourney. Conley made the all freshman first team this year after averaging PPG 11.3 | APG 6.1 | RPG 3.4 Conley skills seem to be only growing, makes one wonder, what if he heads to the NBA? Who could get him? Who would want him? First round pick? All these questions are a swirl right now and only one can speculate the answer to each one.

Teams that could be interested in Conley

With Atlanta having Anthony Johnson, Speedy Claxon, and Tyrone Lue to run the point there is definitely a chance that they could make a run at the young fella if he decides to come out this year. Conley ability to drive and kick will be nice to have when Joe Johnson is on your team.

Laker's were reportedly in heavy talks with the Nets for trade including pg. Jason Kidd. The laker's pg Smush Parker is a FA after this year and I know that the Laker's are looking fiercely for that complementary player to Bryant. The only thing that leave me skeptical of this move would be the fact that I don't know if the Laker's would want to start over with another young pg.

With Baron Davis always hurt and Monta playing mostly SG there is room for the Warriors to start grooming there up tempo replacement pg. Conley has the skills to push the ball and control tempo, exactly what the Warriors need.

With the Bucks two pg's becoming FA's this year they are definitely going to look into getting a replacement pg. If the Bucks can some how get Billups, like they are reportedly trying to do, they will most likely not draft a pg in the draft.

I am going to throw my Cavaliers into the mix here. The Cavs need a pg that can penetrate and pass to take pressure off LeBron and Larry. Although Conley cannot shoot the 3 well yet, he has all the other skills to become a good pg. The question is, can Danny Ferry get us into the draft? My guess is we will find ourselves with one of the Sun's many picks, but the pick will the be a late first rounder maybe later second round.

The Miami heat were among the others that tried to get a pg before the feb. trade deadline. Instead they got Eddie Jones. The Heat need a young pg. Right now they have the old version of Gary Payton and another old guy, Jason Williams. I can see Conley going to them.

Conley should be an early lottery pick, and the first guard off the board in the draft. If I didn't need a big man, I would take him as early as #3. There's no chance we can get him, which sucks cause i think he would cure our PG needs.

no idea what is up with the youtube vids. they worked before.

There's no discussion about him leaving early becuse he said he's coming back...lot of time wasted :chuckles:

Whatever draft he happens to be in, the Cavs should do everything in their power to get this guy... He's a legit point guard and has a chance to very special in this league for a longtime... And I think his game really compliments LeBron's game well and is exactly what he needs at PG: a quick, penetrating guard who can control a game...
