Most of us do not like this team! Why ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's not about talent. The Pacers do not compare on the talent board, but they sure kicked our butts.

Team shows up with a terrible defensive scheme, no intensity, unprepared for the physicality of playoff NBA.. this is clearly a leadership problem. You can throw shade at James, but what made the bulls great, was that they got max effort out of their other assets, Pippen of course, but also Rodman and similar role players.

This team was better in its first two games, than it is after two months of coaching. It's just a fact..

I still think they beat the Pacers, but obviously not in four. But I am worried about Philly. They have that talent some of you are talking about, and they are playing with enthusiasm.

And for the record, Cedi is a better choice than Green, but in garbage time he was achuckin..if he wants to break in, he needs to show composure even when the game is already over..

In a wierd way it just doesnt feel right, like its not an actual team, just alot of makeshift players coupled with love and jr thrown around lebron....hard to explain but it just doesnt feel like a team

You wouldnt be surprised at the totally impossible?

The summer is a couple of months away. What's Gilbert gonna do? Sell the team to the first guy he sees on the street. Selling a basketball team isn't a one week deal.

So then how does this work with LeBron? He just remains a free agent into the fall while Gilbert looks for a buyer? And how does he go about getting value when LeBron is unsigned?

You have some takes. This is certainly one of them.

Not to mention, what incentive does Gilbert have to do this?? How is "sell the team or I leave" even a threat? Gilbert only cares if LeBron plays for Gilbert's team, not specifically the Cavs. If Gilbert sold the team and LeBron re-signed, that would be literally the same result as LeBron signing with any of the other 29 teams in the first place.

Truthfully, I feel much less attached to this team than previous iterations.

We have gotten rid of so many guys who provided likeability over the years. Like I fucking loved Channing Frye and RJ. That shit was actually hard for me when RJ got dumped. I know it's the front of the jersey that counts, but just this constant shuffling it feels like a new team now.

Like, I'm just not emotionally invested in Rodney Hood yet. He hasn't headbutten an opponent to stick up for a teammate yet like Frye did. He didn't write pieces on the Player Tribune about what it is like to play with LeBron James and have constant fan interaction like RJ.

No one has needed to go to the hospital after a game like Delly.

These last 4 years have been really fun. But, fuck, man. A lot of what made them fun is gone. I know everyone hates him now, but I still like Kyrie. He's immature as fuck, but he was one of my favorite Cavs ever. RJ and Frye and road tripping is gone and in its place we have a bunch of guys that I just don't feel that emotionally invested in.

It's been a weird year for me as a fan. I just don't enjoy watching as much as I did the last 3 years

A couple quality opinions here to which I agree with both..

Definitely not anywhere near attached to this team than others (which is what makes losing Kyrie more painful than LeBron actually— at least when LeBron left you knew you were starting over whereas this seems like a bandaid)

I wasn’t really feeling Isaiah and Crowder and Rose and the same can be said for Hood, Hill, Clarkson, Green etc... Definitely not the same vibe as even 10 years ago when we got Delonte, Ben, Joe and Wally...

Also agree it doesn’t feel like a team.. Now I understand the chemistry is completely off because of a lack of playing time together — I just can’t imagine if this team played an extra 15 games or so together there would be such a substantial difference ?

Squad just doesn’t feel right...

To me it could mean too things, either lebron will walk and we start again or he stays and brings in a superstar...my guess is that if hes staying, he already knows who he is bringing in

The problem is that when Kyrie left it ripped out the heart and soul of the team and we never came close to replacing it. I say that not liking Kyrie any more as a person, but on the court he has the undeniable fire and creative genius of an all-NBA player. Pairing him with Lebron opened things up for everyone. We replaced Kyrie with NOTHING -- not even any truly reliable starters. So far it's looking like Larry Nance is the best player we got in return for him, at least the best player we're willing to play. We have not recovered from that trade. This team is an unfinished construction site. We are left waiting for Lebron to magically turn it into a building somehow (or for the coaching staff to do so, but we all know the problems with that).

#1 A lot of peoples feelings changed when they traded Kyrie and they really miss that 2nd go to scorer who can consistently get 25-30. Love doesn't show up in the big games. 8 shots yesterday?
#2 Coaching - After 2.5 seasons Lue still doesn't have an offensive system and the def just keeps getting worse. He was laughing yesterday at halftime and saying "i'm not concerned" and that he thinks they'll turn it around. He has zero sense of urgency and it reflects on the team. His approach and attitude reflects on the teams. Every time it shows his face during a game he has this blank stare, makes me puke. His inability to develop young players like Cedi and Zizic while trotting out guys like TT and Green who aren't performing is inexcusable. Korver got benched yesterday for missing 3 fgs while Green plays 25 mins and goes 0-7. Couldv'e really used a couple 3s from Korver when we cut it to 8 in the fourth. When did Love get his first touch in the post yesterday?

I have never been so disgusted and frustrated with a coaching staff before. So many obvious things that the fans see and they dont. UGH

Too many injuries, haven't come together as a "team" yet.

If they start playing like a team, and not a bunch of disinterested parts, everyone will start getting behind them.

CLE sports fans prefer doom and gloom for some reason.

Drama, effort, and blatant disregard for defense from our coach and players. That about sums it up. It's not fun watching millionaires who play a game for a living give ZERO effort on defense routinely. 90% of our regular season was like watching a pick up game at a local rec center when it comes to effort, defense, and iso ball/chucking 3s.

LeBron's constant bitching about fouls and never even crossing half court on defense after a turnover or blown layup has also worn on me more than previous years. Pretty weak from a guy that considers himself to be the ultimate leader. Nobody else would get away with that shit but him.

Is it true that most of us here don't like this team??? Its certainly not true for me. I really like this team, or should i say I really like the players we have on the roster. I do not blame blame the players for this mess, I don't even blame the players for missing 3 pointers. When i think back about my own basketball and having played for different coaches and systems it makes a world of difference. If you simply do not feel comfortable in a system no matter how good you are, things will not go right for you. Including just taking a simple shot. You can keep trading the players as much as you want but it won't matter aslong as we have this coaching staff. And you have to give the team time to get it together. It has been 1 game that we are complete right? The players can play I am convinced of that, including crowder(excluding TT).

People should not forget that this season has been absolutely insane. Yes we have done a big overhaul before with the mozgov trade and done well after. But this season we have done 2 huge deals. IT was injured and didn't come in till months later. Thats an allstar caliber player. Then we have love injured, TT injured, I don't know who else was injured, probably everyone has been injured this season besides lebron. Then we make a huge deal at the trade deadline and we are trying to make this work without kevin love.

Normally when teams change completely you give them time, you give james, wade and bosh a full season to jell. The first game of the play-offs is the first time this roster is even complete. Yes our coaches are retarded but you can cut them some slack for this insane season. And it is insane to expect this team to go to the finals but people do it anyway because it's lebron and he has been there 8 straight times in dominating fashion. Well guess what this season is different then the previous 8 and basketball is still 5v5.

Personally I hope and expect we will beat the pacers. If we can beat the pacers I also expect us to beat the raptors. The team I fear the most are the sixers. I truly believe they will really test us and I am willing to go as far by saying. If we can beat the sixers we will win the nba championship. Im not saying the sixers are as good as the warriors or rockets. But they are very good and if we beat them that means the cavs are finding their groove and the warriors have steph curry coming back from injury and the rockets are still the rockets under d'antoni. Lets just say im not convinced by the rockets or warriors this year.

Looking forward to the next games!

I also feel we don't have a #1 point guard. Hill has said he is more comfortable playing SG. Clarkson needs someone to keep him in check. We basically have 6 SGs and Calderon who had this stage of his career is a backup PG at best. Cedi really is the only one that can play SF for long stretches.

Delonte jumped right in to being a solid starting PG for us. Mo came along and gave us an upgrade.

In 15 months of winning the Championship we lost our top two PGs. We went from it being a strength of our team to the biggest weakness. PG might be the hardest position to cast with a LeBron lead team. The player has to be a combo guard who is just as good on the ball as off the ball.

These post for real? 1 Dan wouldn’t need to do much shopping to find a buyer, it’s just a matter who will bid the highest. Many hot shot gozillionaires lined up seeking to purchase a team. 2 what incentive does Dan have to sell If LeBron agreed to sign long term ? The value of the team will be at an All time high with LBJ under long term contract. Or watch LeBron walk and watch the value of his team plummet 100’s of millions $$$. Besides, Danny boy needs to move on, get the fuck outta Cleveland and take his shitty ass casino with him.

To be honest, I wasn't all that enamored of this team last year either. I'm not on instagram or twitter, so the off-court amusement really is a non-issue for me. While Frye and RJ may both have been great guys, I didn't hang out with either of them personally and so didn't really care what kind of guys they were. I'm a fan of effort and enthusiasm on the court, which is something that the Cavs lacked for large chunks of this year and last year. Calderon provided some of that, and I like watching the hungry young guys play. But this was a hard group to like both this year and last when they were in chill mode so often.

This year was perhaps a bit worse because so many of our vets were playing like absolute crap, and we still didn't play young guys. That created a discrepancy between what I thought I might have been able to watch, and the crap that was actually on the court.

I don't want to convert this into Lue-bashing, but I think it's fair to say that we didn't exactly have strong leadership this year, which this particular team (especially considering all the turnmoil) needed much worse than most. No direction, no theme....no interest.

Here we go again with this take ..old but I’ll reply anyhow . Boston played their prized #3 pick Tatum , Ojeleye is complete garbage and wouldn’t see a minute if they were healthy. Spurs didn’t play any rookies unless you are counting White who only seen the floor due to a 30 point blow out. Same with GS and Jordan Bell seeing a whole 6 minutes in a 30 point blow out. And you really mentioned Philly ?? Seriously ? The 2 rookies they played were picked #1 overall.

You are correct, Gilbert should be pissed . At himself for hiring rookie FO personnel ever since Danny F’n Ferry who alone cost us a few rings . Fucking Big bucks Gilbert can throw the money around but isn’t humble enough to hire NBA guys who would tell him to stay out of the way while they built a team. Gilbert is a fuck head and wish he never bought the team. LeBron in his 15th year and 1 ring is solely on DG’s shoulders .

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if LeBron told Gilbert he will sign a max contract under 1 condition . He must sell the team or take a huge equity loss.
the question is what did Jeff green give you yesterday? and could zizic do any worse than that?

If Zizic is paired with Love and Love only okay. Also tell him to use his elbows, a lot . We must start breaking the other teams players. In every round .
