Myles Garrett : NFL 2023 DPOY

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
DeMarcus Lawrence gets 5 years, $105 million

Something to keep in mind as a baseline.

Dammit. It’s going to be so hard to keep our core together.

Obviously Baker, Garrett, and now OBJ won’t be going anywhere, but still...

Gotta develop that’s Patruot mindset... what positions are most replaceable...

Will certainly be interesting in 3 years

Thanks for posting. I thought this was really good. I wish there were more film plays but Joe does a great job talking through a combination of personal stories, technique details, and football dynamics on the field.

I really wish Joe could be a part time coach, even once a week. He really has a way about him.

Edit: and Myles fucks.

Couple of things:
I LOVE Joe Thomas. I could listen to him talk football all day. I wish he was still on the field helping the browns. My all time favorite Browns player.

I got frustrated with all of Myles offsides penalties last year. The 9:00-10:26 mark has changed that. Great description and explanation. “Just the cost of doing business.”

Who know, maybe one or more of them take the Tom Brady route and don't demand every last penny to maximize their own salaries. I mean, it's possible.

With as competitive as Baker is, I would not be surprised. But just having an actual quarterback for the first time in a long time, I suppose I shouldn't worry about how much we're going to have to pay him.

Going for the last penny is different in a league like the NFL that has a hard cap, versus the NBA. In the NBA, you can always point to the owner as the bad guy for being unwilling to pay the luxury tax. But in the NFL, every penny that gets paid to one player on a max-out team is a penny that doesn't get paid to someone else.

And when you're already the highest paid player on your team and are supposed to be the leader...it's kind of an awkward look.

Yes, I kind of think this Russell Wilson drama--that ended in that massive contract--came off how you are suggesting.
