So I guess it's cheese that the AI CPU will just randomly leave people? It's cheese the AI CPU centers squat under the basket leaving the lane open? It's cheese the AI CPU doesn't get back on transition defense and leaves the lane open again? I guess it's cheese the AI CPU bigs don't use sprint to get back, so if a user does it's cheese? But hey 2k fixed the socks not working in my career in a patch already!

You can say that video is with sliders edited or whatever you want, but watch that video and the 3 others I posted and watch the AI CPU. It has no clue what the hell is going on, it's logic is broken. Or better yet, stroll over to OS and check the impressions or bugs thread, defense logic is broken, highlighted on fast breaks.



So don't sprint down the court with bigs because the AI CPU refuses to use sprint or cut off the path in the inside? Gotcha!

Play online because AI CPU logic is broken? That's a great idea man, let's just ignore 90% of the game modes.

Really did you say play online because offline AI logic is broken? You realize some people get this game to play sim basketball in franchise mode controlling all 30 teams so they get close to realistic results? Not everyone plays 2k so they can play against the Cavs and Warriors online were half the opponents spam steal and dribble moves.

There's an issue with the transition defense this year. The problem is caused because of the off ball CPU defense. On ball is fine. That video shows how you can exploit the shitty transition/off ball defense, but it is an exaggeration. During normal gameplay against the CPU this doesn't really occur as often. The guy in that video player locked Anthony Davis, who has a speed and acceleration rating of 82 and 80 respectively, and purposefully exploited the poor transition defense. Most bigs don't have speed ratings that high, some guards don't. That video is an extreme example.

Don't get me wrong, the off ball defense needs tuning, but it's not THAT bad if you're not playing against a person trying to cheese.

I've definitely been enjoying the game though.


EDIT: And there's something up with the passing in that video. It looks like the passing slider was tweaked or something. I have terrible passes all the time when I attempt shit like that.

The point was simply that if you want to 'break' a video game or expose 'faulty logic', you'll always be able to. That will not go away. It's how video games are. I'll never understand the crowd of people (especially in the 2k community) who make it their life goal to expose and whine about this each year. Not saying you're a part of it, but they exist.

The point regarding online play was that if you are upset the cpu doesn't make adjustments to your inputs, play against someone who can and will. My record was put there to prove that I'm not full of shit when I claim to have a pretty good understanding of that side of the game.

If you want to play 'sim' basketball (which I used to do in a heavily competitive league), don't hold sprint down the court with adjusted sliders and throw 80 foot passes. If that's not the result you want, don't allow it to happen.

Again, the defensive AI is far from perfect, but it's better than it's been in a while. Players rotate to each other's blown assignments, block shots on their own, etc.

If you want realistic results, they are more than attainable - go get them.

To criticize a company for spending the majority of its time on its most played features is kind of silly.

Yes, MyCareer is going to get a ton of development? Do you know why? Because it's the most played feature in the game each year. It's inception can be directly linked to the franchise absolutely taking off.

Yes, people are going to play the game against each other online a lot. Yes, 2k is probably spending more time on that experience than the one involving people playing 3000 games against the AI.

Finally got it last month and got through the 'joint' to the real MyPlayer game.

Hate that they have taken away the ability to call for screens off the ball. That's like a whole aspect of offense gone and it forces more iso pick and roll than even the 09 cavs ran

I can now get one play into any game mode before I get an error message that says cannot read disk.

Meanwhile, the fucking game continues to play behind the error message.

This is going to sound like a dumb question but have you taken the disc out and cleaned it? When a 360 gets bumped with a game inside there is a chance it will come off the tray while spinning causing the disc to become scratched.

Those passes were occurring because of adjusted sliders. You can't pull a Kevin Love outlet pass with anyone in the game.

2k had been getting progressively worse, IMO, but this year it's actually a breath of fresh air. As an avid online player, I think it's the most enjoyable, fair, and cheese-less 2k I've played online.

I'm 22-1 in online quick play so I'm not saying I'm a scrub who hasn't figured out the 'cheese' stuff in this year's game. But, the best way to play the game is actually by running plays and an offense, which was unthinkable two years ago.

Can't wait for our league to start up.

Is that an option in 2k? All I've found is 1 on 1 against another player online.

There is team up. Also, The Park where you can use your My Player and play games of 3 on 3 or 5 on 5 or whatever. I get 2k every year, and I got 2k16 release day, but I've barely played it. First year I haven't played much.

The mode he's referring to is "All star team up". You play East vs West, but you can put literally any starter from that conference (new or old teams) into the position you lock into. It's fun because everyone's got a stud player.

It's called Pro-Am.

You can play with a team of 3 or more players and customize your arena, jerseys, etc. It really goes pretty far in depth and the things you can do with the customization is crazy. I've seen some very legit carbon copies of collegiate uniforms as well as some super unique ones.

Also you can play as a walk on if you don't have 2 other friends to jump in a game with.

However I would advise you to get your players rating up first as most people have very high ratings in this mode.

Super fun mode, it's what I've sunk mostly all of my 2k time into this year.
