NBA 2k18 was the first 2k I haven't played in 10 years. And I think it was justified because I've seen a lot of people say the game sucked. But with this special edition LBJ, it might be time to make a comeback.

I hope they add some cool features to 2k19. I skipped 17 and got 18 this year and I wasn't very impressed. The cut scenes on MyPlayer were way too long, and there was no way to skip them. I remember 2k a while back had the mode where you played as Jordan and had to recreate his past moments. Something like that with LeBron would be cool.

Me too!

Until they introduce a new feature, or improve gameplay, I won't be buying again. Hopefully that happens this year.

I've literally had every 2k since 2k7. And midnight release on most of them. But I just found the game getting worse and worse the last couple years. I got 2k17 out of tradition basically, and never played it much. I hated it. Just decided to not get 2k18.

I still won't pull the trigger with no cause for 2k19. I need to see improvements. But I do want the LBJ cover if the game looks good. At the same time, I've never spent 100 dollars on a game, ever.

The grind is also a killer thing for me. I hate grinding. MyTeam would be fun if it was actually possible to get good cards without spending a thousand dollars. Probably same with MyPlayer or whatever it's called now, I've never played it because of the grind. I just want to hop on a game and have fun.

Shit was so frustrating. It took like 3 minutes to get past every single game. I last two games before accidentally trading LeBron James just to skip the bullshit. I think I sold the franchise too.

That would be awesome. I was hoping for it. They need to do that.

If not in the 2k19 game then definitely in one after he retires. There would be so many big moments to include. It'd be especially cool since I've actually been alive to see them all unlike with the ones they had for Jordan.

There has to be some kind of new game mode with it being the 20th edition. Otherwise it won't be much different from the previous version.

Game has been pure unadulterated garbage for the last three installments. The mechanics suck. The roster guy has no clue what he's doing 80% of the time. MyCareer last year was a complete and utter joke. MyTeam gets worse every year, as does the community.

I hope the sales drop off big time this year, because a large portion of the community is getting sick of the same old bullshit every year. Maybe that would make these guys get their shit together and make a working game.

Pasting LeBron on the front isn't going to make me automatically buy it.

I'm experienced as they come when it comes to this garbage video game title, they suck me in and I feed them.

2k is a money hungry organization whom dumbs people down because they can do so... any other game has constant updates, patches, patch notes, add-ons, downloaded content, etc and etc. Not here though. They're all about micro-transactions and getting you to play my career with 10 different player archetypes.

The gameplay is one of the worst ever as far as cheesy animations go. If you know how to abuse them, you might have fun, but even that bullshit gets old. And they refuse to patch them!!! I mean I'm talking blatant exploits not even getting a fix.

There's also really no skill gap in park mode. Stupid contested shots go in most of the time. Bad shots even go in.

I've been playing NBA 2k since Dreamcast and this year has been one of my least favorite. It's getting real bland and super repetitive. They need to think of something to change the game and make people want to stay around.

I have been playing 2k for years and agree with what everyone is saying so far.

That said I am probably going to get 19 on regular release. Playing 4 days early and getting stuff I won't use (not a myteam player) isn't important to me.

Ser you in the park!

I was about to buy the game while it's on sale, until I checked the reddit and saw everyone says the game is trash and not to buy it.

Sucks man. I was a die hard 2k fan. Guess it will be the 2nd year in a row I'm not getting the game. I just need the basketball fix so I'm still considering it.

All games are attention and money seekers now. All social media too. Build, practice, compete. Repeat. I thought games were for play man. I too need the basketball fix though. I don’t touch MyCareer. Just 5-on-5 and MyFranchise. Wish they cared more about gameplay (not that it’s terrible) than all this extra crap. Wow I can set the prices of the concessions in my team’s arena...what a thrill...

Yea I really just play Myleague online(custom rosters and sliders) and pro am/rec.

We still have a few spots left, it's a ps4 league if anyone's interested.
