Koby Altman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

So apparently it's for VP of basketball ops. I wonder if he wants to be president?

I would rather he the spend money wisely and let the professional scouts and front office make the roster decisions. Yeah he spends but he also reaches for less talented players, squanders assets for short fixes, and doesn't empower the basketball minds around him instead often stripping them of power. The Griffin stuff was about money and control (normal stuff) but him talking to owners about trades overstepping the GM's was next level. I wonder how unusual that is...

All NBA owners are scumbags. Grow up.

Dan Gilbert is willing to spend money to win championships. And for that reason, I'm glad he's our owner. Otherwise, I don't give a shit about him and assume that he's a piece of shit like most overly rich people.

Most NBA owners aren't stupid enough to be seen yucking it up with Trump in a 90% black league. He can't sell this team fast enough. First Griff, then goes to hang with Trump after the only player on his team that matters won't even stay in a Trump property.

It's fucking stupid, anyway you look at it.

I don't think this is restricted info but it should be known that Gilbert was in another room waiting to see Trump for a different reason unrelated to the Cubs. Trump pretty much insisted that Gilbert be brought in for the picture, put Gilbert in a bad spot where he couldn't refuse without making a scene. Trump may or may not have wanted to embarrass Gilbert because Gilbert supported his opponents in the last election.

It was a Curb Your Enthusiasm moment for sure.

Guy should have a GM though.

I'm thinking screw this Billups character with him dragging his feet and countering and all that. Take a hike brother well get someone else. Should of never lost Griff, what a mess we have now.

Dan Gilbert owns a multi-billion dollar mortgage company, if he needs to talk to the president its most likely business. Quicken Loans made him the money to buy the Cavaliers, not the other way around. Most owners don't pay the luxury repeat tax.

As for Griff, my buddy who works for the Cavaliers said the reason Griff lost his job was because he was about to trade Kyrie and Gilbert wanted nothing to do with it.

LOL. He OWNS Rocket mortgage/Quicken Loans, and has a dozen other business ventures.

Trump is EXACTLY who he should be talking to.

You think he gives a fuck if an NBA player cant understand that simplistic reality?

You have bad information on Griff.

I agree on the Trump thing. Buzzdug is 100% right. Trump called Gilbert brought in from another area of the WH to be the butt of Trump's bad sports jokes. Gilbert wanted no part of it.

This is absolute crap. Gilbert was there to talk about the revitalization of Detroit, in which he has played a major role. Further, Gilbert and his wife actually contributed $150,000 to a PAC that supported Hillary in the general election. So for anyone to slam Gilbert for simply going to the White House post-election to talk about revitalizing Detroit, and to imply that he was pro-Trump, is sheer ignorance.

That being said, even if he was pro-Trump, to let that stuff pollute sports is pretty pathetic anyway.
