Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Magic/Pelinka is the new archetype of the NBA front office, Gilbert should just make Rich Paul GM with an established POMO/mouthpiece of the franchise type.

Wink-wink, nod-nod sell Lebron controlling interest in the Cavaliers upon retirement at the height of the franchise's value.

Why go through another $500M dip in value when LBJ leaves. Sell high and go buy the Pistons like you know he wants to.

Rich Paul would have to stop being an agent and cut ties with all his clients so nope.

If Billups wasn't feeling the offer, he would've played the Big 3 and soaked in that atmosphere. Supposedly it was legit.

Nothing.... Just people yapping...

Cavs don't need Billups to tamper.. They can just use LeBron.

Correct, but Billups might want to reach out to key guys on his own to get a sense of how willing they'd be to come to the Cavs for his own knowledge of what he's getting into. Just double check things with Melo and some of the other guys he knows well.

He could also be getting a head start on free agency. Talking to a guy for 2-3 weeks about how interested you are, could land us a few bargains when money dries up.

or Chauncey is a smart guy and understands the first thing he needs to do Is ensure the Owners respect
step 1
make the impatient guy exercise patience.

It's just people hoping for the best in a situation that doesn't look so good right now. Sorta like all of us who are hoping Wade will come here when he gets bought out or hoping Melo will actually want to live in Cleveland.

What? Does? That? Tweet? Mean?

Literally no way to know because the tweet provides zero context. From that alone that could just be Rip saying "I dont know enough to have an opinion on the matter."

What the heck is going on here...make a decision already ...this is becoming a bit absurd...he's known about this possibility for a month...there has to be something going on behind the scenes...right?

Has to be something going on behind the scenes. I truly think this was all planned, because if Billups takes his time accepting the job, this way it doesn't look like this has been in the works more than a few weeks. Which would truly show if it was, then that would truly make Gilbert look like a total _ss the way he did Grif. So instead, with Billups supposedly mulling this offer, it makes Gilbert look like a good guy.

Forget Chauncey. He was a heckuva point guard during his day, but he has no front office experience. It's a huge gamble to hire a guy like that to lead your front office. He's obviously indecisive about taking the job, which is really a blessing.

I'd rather the Cavs hire a guy like Monty Williams (Spurs) or Troy Weaver (Thunder). Both guys are much more deserving than the former Mr. Big Shot.
