New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
gotcha.

There are just so many plot holes.

The system that Hollywood has created for movie scripts and tv scripts writing is largely throw out the window with Netflix. From what I've heard Netflix will give a series based off an idea especially if they like the stuff you have done in the past.

In most of Hollywood with movie scripts the amount of iterations that they go thru is massive. By time a movie has the green light, so many people have read it and given notes that any plot hole would have been pointed out to them multiple times. Same goes for writers of tv series, they usually write the plot then they have a room of writer to help write and go over the rest of the season.

With Netflix the idea is pitched, they are told to write the whole first season and then they go into production. I bet the OA season 1 was written almost solely by Brit Marling then went straight into production.

You heard of the large budget Netflix shows even writing the 2nd season of the show before Netflix even releases the 1st or has confirm there is a 2nd season. I read the lost in space writers were already into season 2. It's all about the production cycle for Netflix, they are willing to pay the writers to keep writing so they can make sure the next season is on track to come out next year.

Just discovered Eric Andre.

It's irritating, but it is funny.

Man Eric Andre to me is the funniest show ever made. The interviews are so fucked. I dont know why but the show just jives completely with my humor.

Seeing people like Jimmy Kimmel and Jack Black physically upset by Eric. Oh man. Fuxking great.

Then you got people like Lauren Conrad who ran out and had her publicist try to bury the show because she was so pissed.

It's definitely funny and it's clever, but it is irritating too.

But you forgive that because it's part of the art.

That system can be both good and bad. If you've got the right person running a show, it can give you one singular creative vision. But we've seen how awful having one singular creative vision can be with the Star Wars prequels, so it's not a perfect system.

@Lyst Eric Andre show is fucking hilarious.

The dude from 30 rock and Jack black are fantastic. The interviews are just epic.

He is insane and he is always great when he is on Howard Stern.

In 2016 they did "Prostate Exam Karaoke" where the guys had to sing while a huge ultrasound wand was up their asses examining their prostates.

I fucking hate how a phone vibrates on Billions every five minutes, and I think it's mine.

I'm watching the HBO Andre the Giant documentary. Really good.

There's a point where Ric Flair is talking about Tim White keeping up with Andre the Giant as a drinker and he says, "I don't know how Timmy White is still alive."

Can you imagine what a hardcore alcoholic you must have to be for Ric fucking Flair to say that about you?

Probably the biggest plot twist in this Andre documentary is that Hulk Hogan gives the best, most poignant interview in the whole damn thing.

The city and the city. An awesome adaptation of the amazing book about two cities that overlap but citizens are forbidden from seeing each other. Only just got round to watching it but it's awesome

I know I've talked up this show before in here, but anyone on this board who likes quality television really needs to watch Gomorrah, subtitles be damned. I am rewatching it and this is the best show on TV right now.

I've contemplated watching it.
Problem is I'm kinda ADD-ish and usually when I watch shit, I also do other stuff for example when there is a simple conversation and I don't need to watch people's faces while they talk.
I can't do that with subtitles (I obviously don't speak Italian) and that means I would need to make a lot of stops during the episodes and it will take me ages to finish lol.

I don't know if it's worth it.
