Oden, Conley, Cook declare

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oden is going to shock the world and announce he is staying!

I don't know why they would say that when Conely Jr. has already stated verbally to everyone he's staying.

ESPN said:
Though no NBA decisions have been made at Ohio State, the future of freshman point guard Mike Conley Jr. is back up in the air after he said in the aftermath of Ohio State's loss to Florida 10 days ago that he was 100 percent sure he'd be back for his sophomore season.
After a celebration of the Buckeyes' basketball team in front of 4,000 fans at Value City Arena on Wednesday night, OSU coach Thad Matta said, "I don't think Michael understood completely what was on the other side of the fence when he said that."

Though it may have been impulse, we don't know about Conely Jr, just yet.

If Cook comes back I still think that we win the Big Ten. We still send out:
PG: Butler, SG: Cook, SF: Lighty, PF: Hunter, C: Koufos

Bench would be Titus and Terwilliger.

Cook needs to come back though. He was showing nothing at this season's end. Was even out of the rotation by tourney's end. He is risking a lot, as he could feasibly fall to round 2 where the $$ is not guaranteed. Another year and he should be a 1st round lock.
Don't forget Diebler. Shooter with size...could have used him against Fla in the final.

Despite Koufos being the bigger player, he would be the four and Hunter the five. At least on offense. Look at their games.

Mac, Conley was the best player on the second best team in the country. Honestly, there were only a few games the whole year where Oden was more important than Conley, and I'm not just talking the tournament. His points weren't great, but I believe he led the big ten in assists AND steals (and did it as a freshman). So putting that with 11 points a game is pretty good. Some other things you didn't mention is that he can go around anyone (he is very good at penetrating), and he's a tough defender.

Should he come out this year? Should he go top 15? That I'm not saying. I'm just saying he's a damn good player, and he will be good at the next level, at least in time.

Im not discounting him as a player at all. I think he is a terrefic player. But at the same time, he is still very tiny. He will be bullied in the NBA to make his good speed on D irrelevent. He doesnt shoot very well, so he will be exposed right away which takes his dribble game off a little bit.

He is in a tough situation, because there are so few legit PGs in this draft, he could be the first one picked and possibly land in the lottery. But it might be at the expense of his growth.

He's listed on the Buckeyes website as being 180, which is small for a NBA point guard but he can still be effective on defense a la Chris Paul who is listed at 175...

But if he wants to be a very good defensive PG I agree that he'll need to gain 10-15 pounds...

He shot a high percent from the field but that could be attributed to his easy shots around the rim...

Regardless he seemed to hit shots when they matter most and that's what matters...

He started off slow to begin the season, shooting 3-24 from 3 point land in his first 16 games... I'm not trying to make excuses for him but not a lot of freshman come out to begin the season on fire and burying threes left and right... No, it'll take some time to adjust to the college game...

In his next 23 games he shot 44% from 3, so he eventually evened out... I think he is a good shooter but he isn't a elite 3PT shooter, but enough to keep the defense honest...

I think he could be kinda like an Andre Miller type player in the NBA with a better shot...

Stop acting like this is news, everybody knew he was going to leave.

Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert are leaving as well.

Actually, he wants to stay.

A little weird his dad announces?

Nothing is official, you knew they were going to make it big news even without an agent yet.

Ok I'm done. 99% of reports from family members, friends, schoolmates said Conley was coming back two weeks ago. Now? No one knows.

Oden's mama said "You leave, you're not welcome in this house". Now? No one knows.

I think I'll do what I should have a long time ago and wait for them to say it.

He can buy his mom a new house that he will be welcome in.
