Official death of unlimited Verizon internet

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've been contemplating T-Mobile for awhile, but with an older phone, rolling over to them seems unfeasible with how they structure payments for phones by spreading retail over the contract and celebrating no up front cost.
I've used a desire for the last year with no problems. I think it was 100 or 150

Is 90 dollars a month worth it for 6GB, iPhone 6?

Is a Samsung J7 a higher quality phone, because 10g a month comes with the phone.

Most of my data usage comes with streaming so TMobile seems like the best bet for me.

I gwt no reception in my apartment.

Noticed there was a metropcs store two blocks away from my house and figured because of location, it must be s hot zone for them.

I am so happy with my switch. I got a zte pro max 5.7 inch phone, 2gb ram, for forty bucks, reception is perfect, phone is fast, service is unlimited 4g for 60 a month.

Could use a little help tethering (@gourimoko if you have a few minutes).

Looks like foxfi is blocked on this carrier

If you want to do wifi tethering on a blocked carrier, you'll need to root your phone.

Every phone is different for this process - but most have a simple process to unlock, often times just a single app installation and a button press.

Once you've got the phone rooted, then there will be no "block."

However, in the meantime, you can use EasyTether USB (or just Android USB Tether if it works) to get internet from your phone..

im gonna have to do some research I think. The phone is just released and I dont believe there is a root method yet.

While we're here.. Hannah chewed up a USB drive. Internal parts are fine, but its.. not going into a computer. Is there any way to salvage affordably?

Absolutely...

If there was still a radioshack this would be easy, but all you need to do is buy another usb stick from anywhere.. any capacity, cheapest is fine - so long as it's the same USB version. So if your usb stick is 3.0, get a 3.0 stick, if it's 2.0 get a 2.0 stick.

Crack the new one open, swap the PCBs, solder down the pins, use epoxy or rubber cement to seal it up once you're sure it works.. You can use superglue, but if you use too much, you'll never get that fucker open again, so be advised.

This sounds like a pain, but should take no more than 5-10 minutes of your time..

And if you don't have a soldering iron, well, you could use a hair dryer and try to loosen the pins -- lift off the USB connector from the PCB, then replace with the non-broken part. You'll need a hot air dryer though (or a hot air gun if you have one)..

If you don't have a hair dryer.. well.. you can buy a usb extender cable, FORCE the female end to fit into the male end of the broken USB (just make an electrical connection, even if you carve the thing up.. Then connect the other end to the PC.. now you can get all your stuff off the USB.

I think it has only rolled out in one area so far.

I'm fairly certain I'm about to relocate to Durham. Any good internetz out there yet? Would love to never speak to Time Warner again.

Also, I have Boost and am grandfathered in to their $40 a month unlimited LTE plan. I will be so upset if it doesn't work down there. Service is fantastic here in the Akron area.

If anyone has figured out how to tether with metropcs, let me know.

My phone is too new, there's no working root method for it yet

As far as I know Google Fiber is only in Charlotte as far as North Carolina goes, and even here it's only in like one neighborhood so far. I think they were looking at us and Raleigh, but no idea if they picked Raleigh too or only Charlotte.

It's in some neighborhoods in Raleigh/Morrisville, idk about Durham yet.

@Ohdang

I did it!

Guys if metropcs is in your area, get it. My phone is insane, cost 40, plan is 66 full insurance included, unlimited 4g, and I've got full wifi tether without rooting
