olympic BASKETBALL!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Funny thing is that I'm guessing Melo or KD are top 2 favorites to get MVP of the tournament. Or Klay jacking threes. It's hard to say because almost everyone has been garbage for long stretches but they have that game that inflates their stats.

I'm guessing he rode Melo because he is the "captain" of the team. Maybe true about Draymond, but it's funny that he seems down. I'm assuming that is because of lack of PT.

They'll give it to Durant. It's hard to argue with that, but he's also been killing us in a lot of ways too. The team outside of Durant is shooting just 38 percent.

I've noticed something about Durant. He actually makes everyone around him WORSE!

He's a great individual player, but he and 'Melo together sucks out all the air from everyone else.

He works with the second unit because he's the clear best scorer on that unit, and everyone else does the dirty work and defends very well. That's why I was in favor of playing him more with that unit.

I think when he was on a team with LeBron and Kobe, they can mask some of the deficiencies better. But not with this team, they're not good enough to do that.

It's kinda been on his shoulders, and he's a pathetic leader, frankly.

I don't think Melo is in contention for that honor.

It's not a close race IMHO; it's Kevin Durant's to lose. The only other person in the conversation is Kyrie Irving - but Durant has been more of a contributing factor to us winning (due to his scoring).

Now one could argue, well, that's because he doesn't pass the ball; but, if Kyrie isn't taking shots, then he's not going to win MVP.

Give them all truth serum, I bet they'd say they don't like playing with him though. lol

He's treat USA basketball like its his OKC team. No denying he is an elite scorer though.

I think we're seeing Westbrook got way too much criticism in OKC over this style of play, like it was he to blame. I am seeing Durant is the culprit though.

I'm not sure he can play another way. He's just been running and gunning. And it's not really benefit anyone but him.

Paul George basically said he doesn't like playing with the first unit. Who can blame him. I wouldn't either.

I REALLY hope he brings this style to GS though, because Steph and Klay aren't going to enjoy it at all.

Yea, Kyrie seems to be way more under control and quietly a good leader that helps the offense flow better. And he is willing to step back, fit in, and let people get their shots. But, like you said, they don't give MVP's for that. It's all about the stats. Kyrie's sacrifice has been underrated though, because Melo, KD, Klay, etc. aren't giving up shots. Somebody had to do it.

I wonder if Deandre Jordan has a shot at the MVP though. He seems to always be solid and without his defense, USA would be pretty screwed.

I thought it was funny that early in the game Durant got mad because he got the ball and everyone just stood still. Everyone knows he is never going to pass it and when he does it going to be the laziest pass in the world.

Kyrie seems to be the most willing passer on the team and looks like the only player to ever play with another star. I wish we could have seen a Kyrie with no warriors lineup, maybe Kyrie, Butler, George, Melo, and Deandre. I don't think we will see a lineup that truely clicks for this team in the Olympics.

I actually think Jordan has been the most important player on this team, but he has no chance winning it. He seems to be the one guy that plays well with everyone, and masks a lot of defensive deficiencies from other players.

Cousins has been the most ineffective player that plays the most IMO. Cousins overall might be the better player of the two, but in international play he's definitely not better than Jordan.

I am not ready to say Cousins is literally not a good player. But he has shown he's overrated though. Definitely not as good as Love. His style of play doesn't translate well to international basketball. And he's a very poor fit on this team.

Off course the Aussies get wrecked.

I am pretty sure the Dubs got better losing Bogut. Dude talks so much shit that he can't back up, it's unreal.

He's like that small guy in the crew that wants to start shit with another crew when everyone else is tired and they all know that he's gonna contribute the least to the fight. All you want to do is just stare at him like "why do we let this dude roll with us??".

Same with Iggy too.

This. This is definitely a post on a message board.

And I missed the damn game cause my net was acting up, and lord knows the FIBA website hasn't updated.

Anyone know where I can find a box score to the AUS-SERB game?

Not a full box score, but some basic stats.

Bonus: You get Irving bashing.

Mostly just his defense. To be fair, he only did fight over a screen once today. But others also pointed out Durant's D was bad too.

Who cares, your average fan is pretty stupid. These are the same people that voted Lowry in as the starting point guard; twice. And we saw who was better when they played in the playoffs.
