Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Trading Rose would be an underhand move. Rose signed for cheap to play for Cavs thinking he could repair his image, etc.

Unless he's part of a packaged for an all-star, I agree 100%.

Kind of... but then why couldn't Rose do that in Arizona? He'd be the veteran, immediately fill Bledsoe's role [and Bledsoe's 20+ ppg production], and orchestrate the team.

Unless you meant compete for a championship and get his competitive credibility back up?

Because they want to play the younger guys. He would most likely get bought out or just cut.

Even then I wouldn’t do it. We’d be killing our chances at another cheap vet in the future. That would be a very bad look.

Not if we traded him somewhere where they want to sign him to a long term deal, and Rose was OK with it.

All I'm saying is that it's not an either or proposition. There are some win-win scenarios where I could see Rose being traded--especially if IT comes back 100% and Wade is kicking ass with the 2nd unit.

Regarding Bledsoe, it wouldn't surprise me if Boston want him. They certainly have the assets. But how do they match the salary?

I am not sure how Rose playing in Cleveland would help his image. Even if the Cavs win the championship and Rose plays well he likely will be a role player especially if IT is back.

Rose is probably better off playing on a somewhat competitive team where he can get his stats. If Rose were to play on a contender he likely be a role player.

Cavs get: Eric Bledsoe, Josh Jackson
Suns get: Cedi Osman, Kevin Love, Clev 1st

Why the Suns do it? The James Jones and Kevin Love connection. Love would fit nice next to Tyson Chandler. And he could help them start trending in the right direction to entice Devin Booker to stay. Osman gives them another young piece to develop.

Why the Cavs do it? We give Bron 2 more guys who we know he wants to play with. We get more pg insurance for IT & Rose. We get a pg who can play now, is a better match-up against GS, and we can move Rose to the bench. We can experiment with Josh Jackson until the trade deadline. If he doesn't fit than he should still hold enough value to flip for another impact player.

How do you possibly see that as a good trade?

Bledsoes value at the moment is salary match and a late 1st

So then do you really think rookie Josh Jackson is worth Kevin Love and Cedi Osman?

Ignoring the horrible value part of the equation, you're also leaving us with 4 PGs(plus Wade/Shump) and a PF/C rotation of TT/Frye/Zicic

Hard pass
