Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Guys, this isn't a tough formula

We're 52-4 in our last 56 games with at least 23 assists

We're 26-0 in games we took a lead into the 4th quarter

Ball movement and build a lead. We won't lose it.

Honestly think we need to move towards Irving playing more of a point role as he did in December.

I get James is a better playmaker, but, I think it makes the Cavs so much more dynamic to have Irving as the primary playmaker.

I agree 100%

LeBron as a 20/10/10 off ball facilitator, and free safety on defense makes us far and away the scariest team in the league.

Style of play has changed over the past month. I'm not sure why, but we are not the same team. It would be nice to see steady progression towards solid D and O the rest of the way, ramping up toward the playoffs. They've done this before, and I hope it works again. Maybe we'll get lucky and Griffin will have yet another ace up his sleeve, but it's hard to imagine he'll pull off a deal for a legit backup point/playmaker.

They would want a Round-2 pick or something for that though.

I guess we will wait till the last day like we did with Andy last season.
Unless we need the room for signing a bought out player.

I wish they'd add a PG so they could do more of this. I'm not sure it's even possible to defense LBJ who cuts to basket off-ball other than denial. once he gets it on cut to the hoop it's over... would make our offense that much better, but Kyrie is just not a real distributor so we sorta need a third party....

Is paying mo Williams not to pay really better than giving that money to your own players just to reach the cap floor?

Doesn't make much sense according to the published rules. I'm not aware of any league penalty for teams that don't reach the salary cap floor, but there must be some incentive in place for teams to pick up and dump players (like Mo) rather than spread the $ to their own roster.

The only penalty is that the team has to split the difference with the players on the roster. I can't think of any reason why it would be better to bring in someone who will never play.

Disagree with this part.

Cavs aren't winning a championship imo unless LeBron is trying to score 27 to 30+

Agreed, LeBron and Kyrie both need to score 27+ for us to be at our best, looking to attack the rim and score first and passing the ball should be secondary only if met with a help defender.

When LeBron plays in that more passive mode trying to get everybody involved/touching the ball and just overall playing slow is usually when we get down early and fight the entire game to get back.
