Yeah we play Riverside tomorrow.
Not sure how good you guys or Riverside are this year, haven't really paid attention. Riverside is usually pretty weak. Send all your 18yr old hs girls friends to my place! Mayfield/Lyndhurst is a pretty cool area. I just moved on Ridgebury

you arent really getting what im saying, there arent flocks of companys willing to dish out big bucks for big men to be the face of companys, Tim Duncan is one of the best players that we have seen come along in the past 10 years, but who the hell wants to buy something with also one of the most boring players out there? not me. Oden is a pretty good ball player, but he lacks any kind of persoanlity that would make him be someone advertisers drool over. when lebron was like a junior, you KNEW in a few years, his face would be everywhere, and his shoes would be everywhere. Oden doesnt have that same potential. look at some other big men...

Yao, Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Dirk...those guys arent getting any kind of huge shoe deals or anything. Oden wont either. I go on sneaker websites all the time, and nobody is wondering "when is the Oden I coming out?" when it was lebron, everyone wanted to know who, what, when, why how about lebrons shoe.

If a guy like Jermaine O'Neal could get a shoe deal with Nike, what makes you think Oden wouldn't?

Also guys like 'Sheed, Marion and Garnett are all endorsed by big time companies... Duncan is endorsed by Adidas and I believe Ben Wallace by And1.

Just wanted to point that out..

Because Oden is boring, he doesnt have that factor that make you be a fan of him, unless your an OSU fan. LeBron had that factor, and so did many of the others that are big deals in the shoe game, like Melo, AI, KG when he was with Nike. JO never had an "Official Shoe" out, he had a special colorway that was a Finishline Exclusive. I never said he couldnt get a contract, what i did say is you wont see a pair of Air Odens out in the near future. And he also isnt a marketers dream like LeBron, Melo or even Wade who is with Converse and has helped there sales tremendously.

why do you guys get so hung up on the fact that not every person who walks through OSU is going to be the best at whatever sport they are going to, i have never seen anything like that.

I think depending on how Oden develops and what level his game reaches depends on whether or not he gets a shoe contract... I get what you're saying with the "appeal" factor, but I think Oden has the POTENTIAL to do it... He doesn't necessarily have it now, but I think he can...

His shot-blocking and big dunks might earn him that shoe contract one day...

I didn't even say anything, but mention it was POSSIBLE for Oden to get it, whether you say or not..

And yes, Oden will probably be one of the best players Ohio State has ever had in basketball and Troy Smith has probably been one of the best QB's ever in Ohio State history...

Pro's is a different thing... I think Oden will be a very, very good pro and Smith well be a solid starter, given the chance..

Those are the two players I've raved, or thought highly of, so what's your problem?

you seem to not get what i am saying, having a SHOE contract. and having a SIGNATURE SHOE in your name...are 2 very, very different things.

Everyone close to Oden is saying he'll be back next year. Everyone not close to him is saying how can he turn down all the money?

It won't be long and we'll know. They have to declare when, April? May? It's not too far away.

You can declare and change your mind. But having Oden not declare from the start would be good to hear.

I think that all of the OSU frosh who were possibilities to leave early will be back next year, and the Buckeye team will be the consensus #1 and the most talented team in Buckeye history and maybe ranked as one of the best in NCAA history. The depth and talent next year will be INSANE.

you think that next years OSU team will be the best in the history of the NCAA?

If Butler stayed another year, maybe.

Conley, Cook, Butler, Oden are all NBA material.

I didn't say the best in the history of the NCAA. One of the best as far on paper...yes.

When all is said and done, the talent on next year's squad will be unreal. They will have at least 4 future lottery picks in Oden, Koufos, Conley, and Cook. That doesn't even take into account players like Turner, who by accounts could be the second best player in Illinois behind Gordon, and John Diebler, the leading scorer in the OHSAA history.

so if thats you theory then i guess UNC would be the best ever? only time i have heard such a stupid statment was one here, no annalysts have said this is one of the best teams ever, get real.

Butler and Conley are both expected to stay. Cook is actually more likely to leave than Oden. Oden and all those around him are at least saying he'll be back. Those around Cook are saying he's gone. Which is crazy, the guy doesn't even start at OSU. You're only good enough to earn 20 minutes a night in college and you think you can go and make an impact in the NBA? Unreal.

I am expecting them all to stay truly.Unless we win the championship this year I am only preparing myself to lose my favorite Ron Lewis.

Ron Lewis is my Matt Sylvester of this year. It is a love/hate relationship. He goes out and makes a great play then follows it up with a bonehead play.

I also expect all to return.

A lineup of would be short of amazing as far as talent and future NBA aspirations:

PG: Mike Conley 6-1 SO
SG: Jamar Butler 6-2 SR
SF: Daquan Cook 6-5 SO
PF: Kosta Koufos 7-0 FR
C: Greg Oden 7-0 SO

Add to that a bench of (one of which will have to be dealt with if all stay):

Lighty - SO - 6-5
Turner - FR - 6-6
Wallace - FR - 6-6
Madsen - SO - 6-10
Lauderdale - FR - 6-8
Diebler - FR - 6-5
Hunter - SR - 6-9
Terwilliger - SR - 6-8

Anyways, Oden with a fully functioning right hand, Conley a year to work on his three ball, Cook a chance to get stronger and learn some defense, Lighty getting comfortable on offense, and all the incoming frosh getting their feet wet...this points to nothing but a dominant, dominant team. Much better than this year.

Seeing Koufos a couple times, he will have an awesome year next to Oden. His game is so refined and multi-dimensional. He can play anywhere from center to point-forward. He has an arsenal of moves in the low post and can hit the three. Add to the fact that Oden will learn some moves just playing against him everyday and you have some side-benefits as well.

David Lighty is going to be a great 4-year player for this school. He already is very strong on defense and as a rebounder. He's going to be the glue to this team over the years.

Ive been exremely disapointed in Lewis and Harris this year. Lewin made the game winning shot against tenesse, harris had a good game against north carolina but that seems to be it.
