Would have loved to get Holmes, but his family mattered more than Okudah and Browning's recruiting efforts. Can't blame a guy for siding with his family, although I think a kid should make their own decision.

Bunch of the dudes he was close with in that class noped out pretty quickly.
He was also behind Fitzpatrick and Humphrey in the pecking order.
He's super talented, and while he and his family have been pretty tight lipped on recruiting, OSU could certainly be in the drivers seat here with two guys leaving for the NFL.

Do you think Sheffield only comes here if he's starting day one? I kind of get the sense with being his 3rd year removed from HS that's a key piece of him and his family, but I'm not as plugged in on the recruiting as you or maybe some others here.
I'm guessing the final scholarships spots are coming down to Sheffield, Jaylen Harris, Marvin Wilson/ Jay Tufele, and maybe Thayor Munford with news of some backup OL transferring out. Not saying they get of them, Wilson is likely a long shot, but those are the only names I can think of still out there that are attached to the Buckeyes.

Meyer and Coombs would never make such a promise, but the opening is clearly there and I think that coupled with the relationship with the staff are a big win for OSU.
Sheffield, btw, is really fucking good. Electric speed, he and Denzel Ward would be the fastest corners in the nation.
