Top uncommitted recruit Micah Parsons favored to Ohio State after Penn State decommit

"...current No. 3 overall recruit Micah Parsons, a defensive end from Pennsylvania, announced Sunday he's dropping Penn State. He's publicly known to have visited Ohio State three times in the last few months, including the weekend prior."

Landed a commitment from four star defensive end Brenton Cox tonight. Rated as the nation's 43rd best player per 247Sports Composite. Cox is a product of Georgia and was viewed as an UGA lean/lock as recently as a month ago. Urban does it again.

By the way, the geographic makeup of the class at this point in late April is crazy.

Georgia - 2
Tennessee - 1
Maryland - 1
Florida - 1
Oklahoma - 1
California - 1
OHIO - 1

This has to be OSU's prime of recruiting. With Meyer in charge of an NFL pipeline it's a no brainer. He is literally hand picking his future team with his private jet piece by piece.

Just to expand on this, here's the geographic makeup of recruiting since Meyer signed on in November of 2011 (not including 2018 commits). If Josh Proctor (OK) and Max Wray (TN) do end up signing with OSU, the program will have signed prospects from over half the states in the union (26 out of 50). That's the epitome of a national footprint.

Ohio - 52
Florida - 11
Texas - 9
Georgia - 6
Indiana - 5
New Jersey - 5
Illinois - 4
Maryland - 4
Michigan - 4
New York - 4
Virginia - 4
North Carolina - 3
California - 2
Kentucky - 2
Massachusetts - 2
Nevada - 2
Pennsylvania - 2
Arkansas - 1
Colorado - 1
Minnesota - 1
Missouri - 1
South Carolina - 1
South Dakota - 1
Utah - 1

Micah, who is still crystal balled to OSU, #3 player in nation, DE:

6'3 241lbs

Random fucking question: When these people slo-mo videos mid video, I am assuming they shoot the whole thing in slo-mo then change the beginning and end to fast? That is the only way I think they can do it on the iPhone without losing quality?

Saint Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers wide receiver Kamryn Babb, an Ohio State target, has come out with his Top 9 and it is no surprise the Buckeyes have made the list. Babb’s Top 9 are Ohio State, Notre Dame, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama, USC, and Michigan.

Babb attended the Ohio State-Michigan game last season.

“I’ve never experienced anything like it,” Babb told Bucknuts.com.

Babb will soon be back in Columbus.

“This summer,” Babb said when asked when he will visit Ohio State again.

89% crystal ball to OSU.

247 ranks: #1 WR - 4* - 18th in country.
247 composite ranks: #7 WR - 4* - 41st in country

4* - 15th ranked WDE - Andrew Chatfield (Florida) announced his commitment to OSU yesterday.

The immediate comparison for the 6-foot-2, 221-pound Chatfield is former Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier, who also played defensive end in high school. He's an explosive athlete with great first step, but a little on the shorter side when it comes to playing along the defensive line.

Making the transition to linebacker shouldn't be too difficult for Chatfield, as he plays a majority of the snaps as a stand-up end anyway. He displays the necessary athleticism and instincts to defend the run and be disruptive in the passing game.

The staff could also look at Chatfield as a defensive tackle in the Rushmen package if he continues to fill out his frame. He's shown the ability to overpower bigger defenders and isn't easily deterred when double-teamed.

The Sun Sentinel's 2016 Defensive Player of the Year, Chatfield recorded a team-high 85 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss and an absurd 24.5 sacks last year to lead the Patriots to lead the Patriots to their third state title in four seasons.

Chatfield was among the 12 prospects to earn an invitation to Nike Football's The Opening Finals during the Miami Regional in late February

Our D-Line the next couple of years is going to absolutely terrify teams. And don't forget, the #3 ranked player in the country, W-DE Micah Parsons, who decommitted from PSU, and is now favored at OSU, is only going to make this line even crazier. Hopefully Bosa stays one more year, but even if he leaves, we are still stacked.

Parsons: (this guy is a man vs. boys on the field)

Chatfield is also a teammate of Patrick Surtain Jr. (5* CB, ranked as 4th best player in the nation per 247 Composite), Tyson Campbell (4* CB, top 40 in nation), and Nesta Silvera (4* DT, ranked 277th nationally). Ohio State has a very good shot with the latter two and will chase Surtain until NSD because he's just that good.

Also, 4* VA ILB Teradja Mitchell announces his commitment at 6 p.m. today. Down to OSU and Florida State for his services. Most people are pegging FSU here, but there's still a shot Mitchell commits to the Buckeyes today.

Fuck I need some OSU football in my life.

Can't wait for your posts during the Oklahoma game declaring it over for OSU at the first moderate sign of adversity :chuckle:

Can confirm I went back to look at the Okla thread from last year and I did not make any such posts. I'll probably be at the game with amazing seats drunk as hell surrounded by pussy while you're at home on the forum, anyways. :D
