You're spot on with the mash-up comparison. The meta is driven by what character's they buff/nerf. That's completely different than TF2 where the core gameplay is rarely touched, they just add on to it. I'm hoping that Blizzard doesn't go the full MOBA route where we're getting a new character every other month. I will quit if they do that. A few new heroes a year would be okay but one of the reason's I quit LOL was because they were getting to a point where we got a new hero released once a month and said hero would be extremely overpowered so that people would drop cash to buy it. After a month of people complaining they would nerf said hero, rinse and repeat with the next one.

I gained a reputation during CS when I played a ton and I would get reported for cheating 3-4 times a season. It was a competition between me and one of my good friends on my team who would get disputed that week. I'm shocked I never got banned because admins at the time had a ton of power and would ban just because they "saw something fishy" in a game. They would use wallhacks to watch disputed players and if it looked like someone was tracing through the wall(even if it was a complete coincidence) they would drop the ban hammer. I knew a few admins from going to LAN's so I'm sure that helped my case.

You should give Overwatch another shot though, Blizzard has done a good job in hero creation and so far the game is balanced fairly well. They've already have 3 major patches since release.

Haha there's nothing better than getting accused of hacking when you're not. I have that happen semi-regularly in TF2, often when I'm using the fucking bow and arrow. Nothing makes me happier than someone claiming I'm using aimbot with a bow and arrow, completely ignoring the fact that the killcam clearly shows I have over 35,000 kills with said bow. Who the fuck would hack their way to 35 thousand kills with a bow?

Overwatch is a great game, and you will get hooked on it when you play it for a bit. That being said, if she's hooked on CS good luck trying to get her to switch. I've been on and off CS since 1999 so I get where you're coming from. It's one of a kind and no other game can provide that type of competition.

Yeah, it's not happening. She competed with a very popular girl team called everground. They were sponsored and got to travel to tournaments.

When you play at that level it's hard to dedicate yourself to another game. Especially with the limited time she has these days. It was a minor miracle to get her playing cs again.

She's friends with M0e whom is a very popular guy in the cs world. It's the only game I have ever seen her play other than some iPhone games over the four years we've been together.

They all aren't the most spectacular clips in the world, but I was just trying to capture the feel of the game and what it has to offer. I suck at sniping so the first shot I'm actually kind of proud of though. It almost needs to be zoomed in to be able to see the top of his head sticking out.

@AuxiliaryPie @TyGuy

It seems like the protocol to tag @The Oi as well so this is for you.

Excellent, I kept looking at the top right to see if I guest stared in any of these clips. Did you use vegas to edit? Great song choice and I like how you sped it up in certain parts.

The last part was funny with that spy.

Yup used Vegas.

Also, I don't think I was recording any of the times that we played. The majority of the footage was just sitting on my PC for six months or so while I put off actually editing it. There are only a couple of clips with my current name (Tobias Fünke), and I've had this name for a couple of months now I think.

I'm planning to recut the video a bit in the near future to replace a couple of the clips that I am less than happy with. I've already a few new clips to replace them. Just need a few more so I have some room extra room to work with to keep the times lined up. I'm really happy with the final clip (the leaping head shot, taunt, and then death via spy), as it fits the end of the song perfectly, so I just need to replace a couple of other clips that are just kind of meh.

The problem with some of the footage I had is that, while I have some really, really long killstreaks (past ten with the huntsman), the footage itself wasn't always all that compelling. A lot of it was just locking down narrow corridors and murdering fools as they tried to push in, which is fun as hell in the game (and infuriates the other team), but not exactly fun to watch. In addition, sometimes those killstreaks lasted five or more minutes, which is longer than the song I used. Even when speeding up parts of the footage (as I did in the video), that's just too long.

I've gotten even better with the huntsman since I filmed the video, though, so getting new clips isn't really an issue. It just takes some time because now I know what I'm looking for and I don't even bother using Shadowplay (or whatever the fuck they're calling it now) to record my last two minutes unless I did something really awesome. I used to have it set to record the last five minutes (and for a while I just recorded every individual life in TF2 manually and then deleted the ones where nothing interesting happened), but I feel like that just wasted a shitload of hard drive space. Two minutes seems to be a much better compromise.

Once I finish the remaster, I'll post it here. Going to do a little color correction work as well and probably turn the music down a bit so you can hear more of the game sounds.

Awesome, I need to learn some of the fancier features. I only really know how to cut and add music. No idea how to speed up parts or change lighting, add text.

@Ren I think @Jack Brickman should give overwatch another shot and play as hanzo. He clearly has a thing for archery.

Speeding up and slowing down clips really couldn't be easier. I'd explain it here but really, just google it. It takes like two seconds to learn. I just don't really know how to describe the icon you're looking for when you mouse over the corner of a clip. A video or a screenshot would show you pretty much instantly.

Adding text is pretty easy as well. Basically just click on an empty place on your timeline and go to Insert > Text Media. There are probably thousands of YouTube tutorials for adding effects like in my title card. I wouldn't consider myself an advanced user or anything. I just found a YouTube vid that had an effect I liked (the glowing white letters) and ran with it since it seemed to fit the song I had chosen.

Color correction is a little tricky, but is again something you can learn via YouTube. I usually just google "Sony Vegas Team Fortress 2 color correction" and find an appropriate tutorial. Just replace whatever game you're playing in that and you should be able to find something suitable as well.

Basically just google everything and let more skilled people show you how to do it. I have a render setting that I got from some tutorial ages ago specifically for updating TF2 vids to YouTube, so all I have to do is select that and let it do its thing when I'm done editing.

I've only really scratched the surface of what Vegas can do, though. There are so many video effects and what not that I haven't even touched and couldn't even begin to figure out without help.
