So perhaps we step back from the panic button until we see something of substance.

We’ll find out where things stand from Dorsey at 9 AM today.

As far as credibility, the reason this guy was originally trusted is due to the fact that Arizona offered McCarthy the coaching job with player personnel authority.

Thus, if an Arizona beat guy had a scoop, we assumed it was because he turned down their offer while insinuating he may be going here.

I would be happy as could be to find out that he jumped the gun and merely assumed since McCarthy rejected Arizona’s job that he was Cleveland-bound with no just cause.

While he doesn't say he was speculating, going from "McCarthy will be the Browns coach" to "not a report, just a tweet spreading what I heard COULD happen" is a pretty huge difference.
