Potential 2019 Head coaches for the Browns

Last night's game completely changed what I thought of him as a head coaching candidate. He was constantly making the wrong decisions as a playcaller. They would get the running game going and get to a 3rd and short, to decide to have cousins drop back to get sacked. It was terrible play calling that was stalling drives.
Vikings fans that I know cannot stand him. That team's offense should have been much better. I get that Cousins is, at-best, average. I get that they have one of the worst offensive lines in football. But the playcalling has been underwhelming.

He'll get another OC job next year... he just has not shown that he can be a strong coordinator yet. His position coaching is phenomenal, though, so my gut is Flip eventually figures everything out.

To play devil's advocate, why would Arians go on the record a few times publicly about wanting the job if he were already communicating with the Browns?

What if the Browns aren't yet communicating with any outside people they are considering for the position? Dorsey may think it's a bad idea to be communicating with prospective candidates while there is a guy currently in the position. Leaks in terms of "John Dorsey had a phone call with Bruce Arians", or "John Dorsey had a meeting with Lincoln Riley" could be a distraction for the team. We're very unlikely to make the playoffs, so he's going to have plenty of time to communicate with candidates after Gregg Williams is done coaching for this season.

In other words, the lack of any communication between the Browns and a particular guy should not be considered as evidence the Browns aren't interested in that guy.

My bad, way late on the DeFilippo news. I guess all of the grumblings about Vikings players/coaches frustrated that he was using the job as an HC audition had some truth to them.

Jim Schwartz for Head Coach, John DeFilippo as his OC.

We have Bruce Arians (.610) publicly begging for this job. No offense to Flip but the Browns can simply just do better than him IMO. Maybe he's a good HC but I'd rather not be the team to have to figure that out.

Browns have the franchise changing guy at QB, a good young defense, highly respected GM....Coaches are going to be beating down our door for this job.
