Potential 2019 Head coaches for the Browns

Given what happened this season between Hue and Haley, I suspect Dorsey won't be interested in anyone who may have been putting his own career over the good of the franchise, or who couldn't seem to get along with another coach.

We have Bruce Arians (.610) publicly begging for this job. No offense to Flip but the Browns can simply just do better than him IMO. Maybe he's a good HC but I'd rather not be the team to have to figure that out.

Browns have the franchise changing guy at QB, a good young defense, highly respected GM....Coaches are going to be beating down our door for this job.

Imagine Arians at coach, Kitchens stays OC and we hire a DC that takes our defense to top 15 instead of bottom 3, and we are contenders next year.

I wasn't at first, but I am all in on Arians.

I feel like it will be either him or Riley.

So you saying a team player like Arians when he took over in Indy still gave credit to Pagano as he recovered. Further, because of age, he will want to come in here and start something special but actually groom his replacement instead of trying to undermine his entire staff.

Everything I can see is leading me to want Arians as our next coach. Only negative I can see is his last name sound allot like Hitter's master race, and as a Jew that is hard to take, lol.

I would be equally happy with Lincoln, but I don't see him leaving a 5 million a year job where he is a G-d on campus, already highly successful and has plenty of time to make the NFL jump since for all his success he is barely out of puberty.

But hey if he wants the job and we go that route, I am more than ok with that too.

Flip helped Josh McCown post a 93 QB rating and a 12-4 TD/INT ratio in 2015.

He even had that other dipshit near 80 and a 7-5 when he played.

That's miracle-esque efficiency among that group.

The love you have for Flip is intriguing. What’s your connection/love for him. I don’t see any of it.

He's gotten players to perform above their worth at just about every stop.

Until he met Kirk Cousins.

I think Kitchens is a very key part in the equation for me.

Kitchens is by no means proven. I'm loving the playcalls but I think he's about 2-3 years away from being a HC.

It's why Arians is probably my first choice.

This could change however. If Ravens Harbaugh was available? I'm willing to let him just pick whomever.

But that's really about it on that list of people. McCarthy could come but only if it were indeed with Kitchens, etc.

If you look at the numbers, even still, Cousins is right at his usual pace in Minnesota.

I don’t think money will be an issue at all for Riley.

Cousins on paper actually has some solid numbers overall so he isn’t doing all that bad. Flip of course got fired as the OC so he will be available this offseason. We will know by the end of the season who’s fault it was in Minnesota.

Dude, come on.

Kirk Cousins is a career 95 QB rating guy. He's at a near 100 rating this year. He's 14th in the NFL in QBR. Do I think he's perfect? No.....but if you can't even look like a competent OC, with a top half of the NFL QB, sorry......get him the hell away from Baker.

Minnesota was 17th in offense and 20th in scoring......with a competent QB, a good RB and incredible receiving weapons. They also have the 5th ranked defense in the NFL covering for their mistakes. Nothing Flip has shown this year tells me he should be a head coach, let alone get to work with a player as good as Baker. He's just nothing special.

His offense had no balance and your argument is he's hamstrung by his QB......which he's apparently decided should just throw the ball all the time? So that's an indictment on him isn't it? If he's leaning on a player you say, isn't any good, to try to carry his water? If that were the case, wouldn't he run the ball more and strive for offensive balance? Just sounds like Hue excuses.

If you watch last night, you saw the problem. It is the OC, it's plain as day. Reminded me of watching a game Haley called.

People will circle the one play where Cousins threw the ball backwards but there were key situations where the OC looked like a complete doofus.

The goaline sequence, when the Vikings were down 6-0 late in the game, was next level bad.

2nd and goal at the 2 - They go 4 wide....defense gives them a 5 in the box look and Flip doesn't have a check out of this play. Say what you want about Cousins but clearly this is a massive failure by a coach. There has to be a situational check here and it cannot be to run 4 receivers against 6 DB's with 12 yards of field to cover. Either way it's an indictment.......if you don't have a check, it's a black mark. If you see this look, you burn a TO given game / time / situation. Instead they run the play, which predictably is a big nothing burger. Initial read is doubled and the check down is shadowed by Wagner, who is in position to pick it off if thrown. Maybe Cousins hesitates on his 3rd read and could have rifled it between a defender but again, that design and call sucks.

3rd and goal at the 2 - 6+1 in the box with a strong safety flexed / rolled out in almost an OLB position. Again, Flip doesn't have a check out of this play and he doesn't ask for a TO. Defense is called to stuff this run play and you just have to get out of it. They have a weakside run called and a defensive player accounting for the edge. Ball is snapped, flexed backer reads run, secures the edge and forces Cook inside, line stunt flows weak and he's stuffed for no gain.

4th and goal at the 2 - 4 down lineman but they have the weak side nose shaded to the strong side of the center, as is Wagner. Thelein is in the left slot, so he's likely sticky enough to hold that weak side edge and the DB is giving a press look, not even peeking inside. Backside they have 3 on 2.....again, there is apparently no check in Flip's system because this is an inside draw / zone, walk in to the endzone look. They instead try to run what appears to be skinny posts against zone, which has no chance on a compressed field.

Seriously a 3 play sequence, potential to decide the game, where the OC called the exact opposite play he should have and had nothing in his system to get out of it and not enough awareness to call TO to save a down. Just stick that tape on his head coaching tombstone.

Board group think sure has taken some Ls this season calling Baker a bust, Barkley being overrated, Rosen being the Chosen one, Haley being the obvious choice in interim HC, and DeFilippo being the second coming over McVay. :chuckle::chuckle::chuckle:

Only a matter of time before McCarthy or Gregg named HC lol
