PS Week 1 (8/13): Redskins @ Browns [8:00 PM EST, WEWS-5]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm watching it live on tv and seems like a stream. I miss channel 3.

I really wanted Preston Smith in the 2nd round. He's been good tonight.....

If you get a chance, check out what Weeden just did on a bad snap for Dallas. Still a hilarious lack of pocket presence after all these years!

Just a matter of time before they convert McCown to WR. This guy is too athletic to be playing QB

But Weeden is a solid NFL QB.
@AZ_

Weeden slapped at the bad snap and whiffed. Didn't try to catch it with two hands or fall on it, he basically pulled a Javale McGee.

For the Jets, Petty has looked like an open container of stale ass.

Josh McCown looks to be the most poised QB in the pocket we've had in a long time. He's not the future but I strangely have a good feeling about the guy. He's pretty much everything that Weeden wasn't. Looks very good mechanically and at ease which probably comes from years of actual in-game experience.

Looks like he'll have some pretty good protection and if Crow can give him some cowbell type of effort we might be a bit more dangerous than we give ourselves credit for. For the first time since the return, I feel the team is underestimated.

If that's flawless, then get me on the damn field

Some insight into who they're dealing with.

Meaning after team film study and it gets pointed out in hi-def video detail that the rest of his game was not exactly flawless... that means he's going to pout and sulk and put himself exactly where he was last year... on the bench.

Clearly he is a guy who even after 1 year in the pros still feels his amazing athleticism is enough to the NFL... that, or he just doesn't have the football smarts to handle what pro offenses can show and hide.

I stopped watching at halftime so here are some of my thoughts on what I saw

1. Holy crap was the TV production amateur hour. What the hell was that? No sound. Color was off. Solomon Wilcox is the worst.

2. I think you saw what McCown can do. He moves in the pocket well. He feels the rush. He doesn't panic. He throws a reasonably accurate ball. He can move the offense BUT Washington is a poor team. I don't think he's going to have that kind of success normally, especially if we get the same kind of running performance from Crow and West.

3. Running backs struggled. They hit the hole hard but just didn't make enough plays

4. Terrance West had a HELLUVA play with I think Johnny where he undercut the blitzer saving Johnny then got up and made himself a viable receiver for a few yards. GREAT play from a player who has some attitude issues. That was a great hustle play.

5. Johnny played well. He did nice things. He used his legs when he needed to but didn't default to them. He threw the ball away when he needed to. He threw some nice balls with his balance and feet set well so he got good zip on it. Overall, I can't complain much of what he did.

6. Shelton looked like a man child out there. He's going to be impossible to stop.

7. Nate Orchard did not flash which was disappointing.

8. Justin Gilbert had some high profile miscues but outside of that he was just ok. A lot of work to do with that guy still

9. Run defense was a major disappointment. Alfred Morris is good but the run defense was supposed to be upgraded and we didn't see it last night. Hope that changes.

10. Glad we got Andy Lee, I have a feeling we will need a good punter this year (Like every year)
