It just cracked me up because I thought of the meme with a very attractive woman and some nerd saying "3/10".
I went searching for that meme after I read his post but got distracted by cat memes and forgot.

Scrolled through Google images. Some pictures are scary. There are a couple where she's breath taking. Watched an interview, and I see a blonde version of the girl from The Shining.

John Wick 2

9/10

Better than the first IMO. It's almost like they had a higher budget or something, the fights were way gorier and cooler with better flow. Ending was fantastic and set up for 3 perfectly.

So I saw Alien: Covenant over the weekend, and I'll be honest, I'm a little disappointed.

The idea that David is responsible for the creation of the Xenomorph bothers me on a level that I can't really explain. All the build up from the first movie, and THE alien was the creation of an android with a God complex? And what about the Engineers? We got no real explanation of what happened with them. I fail to believe that they were totally wiped out when David released that black goo. I know they're making another one to connect to the original Alien.

Am I the only one that had this opinion (in the spoiler)?

I think the various Engineer artworks in both the newer films hint that they've had prior contact with something like the xenomorphs in the past. I don't think David is the only game in town.

1) It did bother me that it seems that David created the Xenomorph, but, not too much... It kind of goes back to the original intent of Weyland Corp to get the Aliens for use as a biological weapon. If you think about it from this perspective, it makes a WHOLE lot more sense. Because Welyand Corp. knew the entire time that the Xenomorphs could be used to create the Engineer's original bio-weapon.

2) I think he wiped out their home world, but not necessarily their entire species. There's talk (from Ridley) that there will be could be another movie to cover this gap of understanding (prequel to Covenant).

Are we to assume that the Engineers are completely wiped out by Aliens? Or does nothing that happened after the original Alien not matter because Ridley wasn't involved? I've seen people say he doesn't consider Aliens, or anything after that, to be canon since it wasn't his.

And I'm guessing what's going to happen is David sends back some transmission about the xenomorph, hence why Ash is placed on the Nostromo.

The original makes the assumption that the Engineers are a long died out species; or, perhaps from very far away and the single Space Jockey just got fucked over by these aliens. We know can assume that the Engineers are not completely wiped out at all, even though the Engineer found in Prometheus is often called "The Last Engineer." But, it's possible, although I'd doubt it.

Also Alien 3 and 4 didn't happen in this timeline. Aliens does indeed count, from my understanding.

And I think you're absolutely correct about David and Ash, since Mother is completely aware of who David is and gives him authority over the ship -- even knowing that he's not Walter while impersonating him.

John Wick 2 - 8/10

Fun action movie. I don't know if I liked it more than the first movie, though. It's been a while since I've seen it, so it's hard to say. That said, the second is pretty much more of the same with slightly less dog murder. Keanu Reeves gets pissed and kills a lot of people. The main problem I have with this movie is that you'd think people would have learned from the first film. Maybe it's not such a great idea to try to betray John Wick, a guy who just got done making the Russian mob look like a total fucking joke. Maybe just leave him the fuck alone?

Lot of great actors pop up in this one, too, which was fun. Looking forward to the third one.

Bah, hated that movie.. liked the first one though.

Saw Guardian of the galaxy 2, cute movie.

Pirates 5

I really liked the first 4 Pirates movies. Really great scenes and set pieces, Johnny Depp is always great, and the movies were just fun. I understand they are dumb fun, but I still had fun with them. If you liked the 1st 4, you'll like this one, because it's basically the same as all of them. If you didn't like the 1st 4, or started to get tired of them, then skip this one.

Going to see Wonder Woman on Saturday. Getting really good reviews overall, and even Gal Gadot's acting is being singled out as good.

Stop thinking so hard about it.

Wonder Woman - 3.8/10

Sigh.

Like, I get there was some very cool scenes, including one great action sequence. Gadot was pretty good, her and Chris Pine had good chemistry, and I thought her character was written pretty well.

But that movie is a mess. Plot is nonsensical. The first 30 minutes is all exposition...and really shitty exposition. The CGI was complete balls. It contained pretty much every comic book cliche, but just did it poorly. I don't understand the universal acclaim for this movie.
