Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LOL. There is always that.

So my wife and I watched it, it was actually her call to get it, she thought the trailer looked interesting. Really, I thought the most interesting things were her reactions, and listening to her thoughts on it. She actually agreed w/ many of the points made.

Id like to look at the statistics. I've seen enough elsewhere to be weary. But yea, it was a good response to feminism.

Not sure what you can about these problems. And I'm not sure it's healthy for people to watch. Divisive etc.

Fences is really good

Help me with Fences, David. I love Denzel and appreciate exceptional acting and dense dialogue as much as the next hardcore film critic, but I just couldn't click with it.

The story felt cookie-cutter and although the delivery and direction was well executed, there just wasn't anything else that stuck out for me that allowed the film to separate itself from the herd.

What was I missing?

Its the black communities response to death of a salesman.

I started paying attention when Denzel refused to tell his kid he even liked him. And I don't know, I could relate to the flaws in his character.

Kong: Skull Island - 7/10

Struggled with the rating for this one. It's not a great movie, but it's enjoyable and fun. John C. Reilly basically steals every scene he's in and adds some much needed levity to a film that felt like it was getting too serious for the subject matter before his character was introduced. The cast is great and everyone does a solid job with their material. It's basically just a dumb but fun popcorn flick, which is absolutely fine for a movie about a giant monster fighting other giant monsters. I wasn't overly impressed by the CGI work, as a lot of the backgrounds have a tendency to look fake and Kong never really approaches a satisfying level of realism, but the location stuff looks really great.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand CGIs

This was....something.

The visuals were pretty good for the most part. But just about everything else was a mess. There were some fun sci-fi elements to the movie (including a Star Wars and Taken reference), but the whole plot was just all over the place. And while the movie looked good, it wasn't on par with say, The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast.

If you really love 3D CGI extravaganzas...there are worse ways to spend your time. But overall....too silly and not good enough effects to really be any good.

Also, Clive Owen's character should've played by Andy Garcia.

As someone who thinks Christopher Nolan is a god, and has loved every movie he has ever made I was super excited to watch Dunkirk last night....

Visually stunning, if you go into the move expecting and looking for a visual masterpiece you won't be disappointed
But, my favorite part of Nolan movies has always been the fact that you would come out of the movie and still be thinking about what just happened and the complexities/twists etc, and this movie really didn't do that for me.... I knew going in it was going to be a war/history movie but I guess I didn't expect it to this extent.....
False expectations maybe, I prefer to go into a movie not knowing much- Still kinda shocked that I didn't fall in love with a Nolan movie, so I might watch it again, who knows maybe ill love it- but at a first glance;
frankly it felt boring, artsy and def the sort of movie that wins Oscars :chuckle::chuckle:
3/4

Someone spoil it for you and told you the Germans lost? Jerk! Some people just want to see the world burn.

Wife wanted to see "Life" the space station horror movie. Thought it would take my mind off the Cavs news.

Life sucked. Edit: Ending made it suck a little less.

Dunkirk was absolutely incredible.

On real complaint I had was the noise. Some of the sound effects were just too loud and jarring. And a lot of time, it made the dialogue hard to follow (although, the dialogue was pretty minimal).

Also, it wasn't really an "actors" movie. As great of a cast as they have, no one really got enough lines to really showcase themselves.

But, overall, a freaking masterpiece. Seeing it again on Wednesday.

Don't watch busters mal heart.

Almost immediately, you think "this could be another" The guy killed his own family as alternative identity movie ", but no way would they make another one of these movies."

Well they fucking did. I'm pissed.

"the trotsky" was pretty good. It had more potential than it lived up to though.
