The end of Twister is bullshit. There's no way they survive being tethered to that pipe with all of the debris flying. The corn stalks alone would have impaled them alone.

Corn stalks are serious business. We have to design ag tires extra tough cause they can cause punctures.

Marathoned Star Wars 1-6 over the weekend, my wife has never seen them and wants to catch up on American culture. She didn't even know that one person is the father of that other person.

Episode 3 doesn't really hold up IMO, the pacing and character development of Luke was garbage.

Thinking you mean Episode 6?

But I dunno man, I think Luke's character is pretty well established from the beginning of ROTJ to the end... He's a Jedi, flat out. So there's no twists or turns for his character, he's effectively the contemporary version of Obi-Wan Kenobi (at least, in his own way).

I think the movie is really meant to show Darth Vader's character develop from being this ruthless Sith Lord in A New Hope to being a conflicted father in ROTJ. I also think we see Han's character turn into more of the "General Solo" to partner with the woman he's now obviously in a relationship with, in Princess Leia.

Overall, I think ROTJ gets a lot of heat because of the Ewoks and the level of commercialization but is still a fantastic film.

Does it get enough heat to roast screaming Ewoks over a fire?

If not, then it's not getting enough.

Haha I was confused on how to approach that as well. He could've been talking about Luke in EP 6, or Anakin in EP 3.

Yep! I was confused too..

Because if he means Episode 3, and Anakin, well, in that case I completely agree the pacing was very hard to follow.

I really think the way the prequels were structured didn't make sense. I don't think we needed an entire film with Anakin as a child that centered on Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul, two characters who were effectively inconsequential to the other 5 movies. I think, instead, that movie should have time lapsed to a later date, with Anakin as a teenager maybe; with Ep.2 picking up with him as a fully developed adult.

Having Anakin be so young in Episodes 2 and 3 (he was 19 when cast) really made his character less believable, IMHO; particularly with how.. petulant .. Lucas directed Christensen to be.

I am guessing he meant Episode 4.

Well, so now that's 3, 4, and 6 that all have been nominated.

I'm going with 8. There's a place where Luke's character development made no sense.....

The fight at the end of Jedi where Luke goes nuts and just wails on Vader is my favorite fight in the entire series because it feels the most real and has some actual emotion. None of the prequel fights feel like they matter because you don't give a shit about any of the characters, and they're all over-choreographed into oblivion. The fight at the end of Jedi is fucking awesome, and even has the great character moment where Luke sees his father's robotic hand and realizes what he's becoming.

There's not a single prequel fight with anywhere near that kind of depth. They're all just boring assholes dancing and swinging glowing sticks really fast to sell toys to five year olds.

Fuck off, Ep 1 fight was awesome

It was boring and dumb, especially when Obi-Wan doesn't use his magical Force power to run fast the one time in the film it would have mattered. And the fight in general was just over-produced and too fancy. It looked like a dance two guys had been practicing for weeks, not an actual fight. And I stand by my opinion that Darth Maul sucks balls. He has no character. He's just there to look cool and sell toys.

I've never really understood the fascination with Maul. Dude puts on some nWo Wolfpack facepaint and all of a sudden all the fanboys are ready to line up and suck his dick? Please.

Haha oops, this blew up. I was referring to episode 4, though it definitely holds true for 6 as well with respect to Anakin

Nope, wrong.
