I really want to see Creed 2. Probably should see the first one. Better check netflix....

Overlord was good. They actually got a lot of the "real" military stuff right, which made it much better than just a horror flick. It was basically Captain America without Captain America, but still pretty good.

How so? Just the way the Soldiers talk and behave?

Overlord was good because it was an almost realistic horror movie. Like you could suspend your belief enough because of how you got the monster. And the experiments are just creepy as fuck. Really easy watch, especially the first 20 minutes or so.

I was thinking about taking Creed 2 in.

How does it rate with the first Creed?

Most of the reviews I read seemed to paint it as the Rocky II to Creed's Rocky. Creed was a drama about boxing. Creed II is a boxing movie.

Not saying that's bad or anything, but that seemed to be the critical consensus. Rocky and Rocky II were both great in different ways, and it sounds like that's the case here as well.

Eh I didn't think venom was that bad. Nor infinity war. Couldn't get through civil war.

The initial scene in the aircraft from which they were jumping was comparable to the landing scene in Saving Private Ryan, in intensity/accuracy if not duration. Extremely well done. The rest of the action scenes between the Americans and the Germans were very good as well, though the Germans did get stupid tactically at one point.

I give Creed a B. Incredibly formulaic, but the Dragos and the boxing are both top notch. I never thought Dolph Lundgren would steal the film, but somehow he did.

I'm with you.. Maybe give it a B+. Thought it was very good; definitely different than the first film but.. it as others have said (accurately IMHO) it is to Creed I what Rocky II is to Rocky I, if that makes sense.

Some day I'll have to watch the Creed movies. I meant to watch the first one before the VR came came out.

Saw that LA Confidential was on Netflix so gave it a re-watch. Easy 10/10. One of my all-time favorites. Great cast. Great writing. Fun noir story with plenty of twists and a satisfying shoot-out at the end.

Watching that made me also want to re-watch The Nice guys, another noir film set in Los Angeles featuring Russell Crowe and Kim Basinger.

This scene gets me every time:

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse... If it's not a 10/10, it's about as damn close as you can get. That just might be my favorite superhero movie period (definitely my favorite spiderSpid film), the animation is exceptional and the story and character development is top notch. Really can't think of how they could have improved on it, and Nice Cage was perfect.

Second all of this. I'm having a hard time not giving it a 10.
