Fool me once ... shame on .. shame on you.. fool me twice... you can't.. you can't get fooled again.
I'll bet The Mandalorian is good and I am interested in what Weiss and Benioff do. But glad they are ending the "Skywalker saga". That wasn't working.

Kylo in the new movie "We must stop the Resistance. I call upon all First Order planets to do everything they can to stop these rebel scum. Thank you.

Now watch this drive."

The Silence: 6/10

Story of one families struggle to survive as blind monsters take over the world. Netflix’s version of A Quiet Place, with a deaf daughter and everything.

Anyone seen Pet Sematary? Super curious cuz this movie fucked me up as a child

Why? Honest question. I knew nothing about it until it was mentioned here, and the cast looks really good. But is there a reason I should believe that a Disney series will be good? Is the writer someone who has done other good stuff?

John Favreaus stuff has been generally well received

Star Wars Rebels was good.

Clone Wars was also very good.

In this case, the content is kinda hard to fuck up. Mandalorians are all hard-core mercenary types, and they are most strongly influenced by ideas that pre-date the Disney takeover of Lucasfilm/Lucasarts.

But I'm really starting to think Disney needs a reset, post Episode IX. I think they need to fire Kathleen Kennedy, fire Rian Johnson (my god). I think the best path forward could be extending Kevin Feige's role by making Star Wars part of an MCU-adjacent (which isn't entirely unprecedented since IIRC Star Wars published by Marvel comics).

But with how well Feige has handled the MCU, given the balancing act of respecting the source material as much as possible, the wishes of aspiring directors, and being considerate of fans new and old across the spectrum - and most importantly also moving the genre forward; I think he's the right guy to lead Star Wars.

And honestly, given the fact that they don't actually have to produce that many films a year, it shouldn't be that tall of an ask for him.

Shit was horrid. 2.29/10
The Silence. Shitty large voracious flesh eating bats escape a large cave and pretty much take over the world, but they don’t like cold weather. You have to be quiet or they rip you to shreds w their piranha teeth. Oh, and in this post-apocalyptic world, get this, there are bad people who want to rape-breed your deaf daughter. So to escape all of this, you need to walk (not drive! Too loud!) to another climate that is colder. But we won’t really show you that journey, but instead tell you that somehow deaf girl’s teenage crush manages to get there by himself, yet no bad guys have decided to reign on the cold climate zone, but we ran out of time so movie over.

That's a pretty accurate summary.

I hate movies where there is an obvious solution that nobody considers. Just drop large klaxons/sirens into places like sports stadiums, attract a bazillion of the unthinking beasties, then fire-bomb the shit out of them. Game over.

Waste of some decent actors in that movie.

Also, for some reason the silence is the only recent netflix film ive seen released not in 4k or hdr. Maybe they knew it was a giant turd and didn't want to waste bandwidth and extra money on it.
