RCF Alternate Fantasy Football League '12

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wouldnt be so sure of that you are hit by byes if Im not mistaken.

True, I don't mind Benson as a replacement for Martin for a single week. Vincent is hit or miss so whomever I stick in there (likely britt if he looks good this week and Hasselbeck starts) I'll just be looking for upside. It should be a close match for sure, I don't think Steven Jackson will do well this thursday against Arizona though.

Also looking at our league its interesting how there really isn't a strong correlation between record and points scored yet. Ohioslayer has had WAY more points scored against him than anyone else, work on that defense dude :).

Tom Brady on the block, looking for a RB

Make me an offer.

Update my trading block again, lets swing a deal

does anyone even check this?

I do! Problem is I'm pretty satisfied with my team right now and am not really looking for any trades, which is rare for me. If i didn't have rodgers I would be making offers for brady, and if i didn't have strong WRs i'd talk Thomas. Otherwise MJD is the only guy i'm interested in on your team, but he is week-to-week so there is obvious risk there, especially if i'm satisfied with my team. But if you are desperate for active trade negotiations :).

This league taught me to never draft a qb in the first round ever again. (yay for practice!)

Unfortunately (I think I'm in this league....scrantonicity clipps) I autodrafted and don't pay attention much. If it were a pay league (I couldn't afford it this year) I'd dominate.

Really? I drafted Rodgers in the first and I'm the #1 seed in the playoffs. I think a much bigger factor in your lack of success was that you didn't trade Mojo for someone while you were struggling to make the playoffs, lloyd underperformed, your round 6/7 picks were donald brown and deangelo williams, and after Denarius Moore in round 9, you really didn't draft a rosterable player.

benson got hurt, rudolph was adequate, wilson was a solid bye week fill in and blackmon was a flier i dont think those qualify as unmentionables for a roster.

injuries to mojo, donald brown, fred jackson, benson, lloyd being a bust and deangelo being a joke is what killed my. If I take LeSean at 5 (like I would have in any other league) Im probably challenging for a top spot in this leage

Sorry dude but that's just an absurd notion. replacing a top-5 QB with a top-10 RB does not change a 6-7 team to a 10-3 team.

The only thing Brown's injury did was prevent him from putting up shitty stats for a couple games. You traded Benson to me while he was healthy so that injury did not affect you at all. Drafting a solid bye-week fill-in QB with a pick in the draft is a terrible waste of a pick and a bad strategy. You're spending an entire pick on a guy who will maybe get you about 5 points value-above-replacement for ONE WEEK. That pick is much better suited for another WR flier, like say Danny Amendola..... who i picked 7 picks after your Wilson pick..... The only injury that really hurt you was Mojo and you knew he was going to be out for awhile and you didn't trade him because i guess you thought you could make the playoffs still. That's a fine risk to take and I can understand it, but when it doesn't work out because your other drafted players were busts, the onus is on you not them.

Basically, you lost because you had a bad draft and didn't do enough in trades/free agency to make up for it. I've had that happen to me before too, it doesn't mean you are bad at fantasy or anything. But you were not one player swap away from a top seed and you were not doomed from the beginning because of your draft slot/options.

Not trying to pick on you or anything, i just get upset when people have a shitty fantasy season and blame it all on luck. Every season is a combination of skill and luck. In the vets fantasy basketball league I won last year, my first time in the format. This year I'm sucking balls. Last year i won because i made smart decisions and had some good luck in the playoffs. This year I'm sucking because the middle of my draft was terrible because i panicked at not having a pg and drafted 2 shitty ones (nelson and thomas) while passing over Lillard, and i didn't take enough high-ceiling guys in the early rounds to make up for it. Its my fault, and I'm willing to own up to that.

I never blamed it on luck at all and ya I said I had a bad draft because this league was free I was experimenting with draft. Im simply saying if I draft how I usually do I may not be the top seed but I probably make the playoffs. (the two leagues I didnt make the playoffs in I took a qb in the 1st round)
