RCF Dynasty Football League

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Okay, so just a heads up...

I will be adding a five man taxi squad to our league today or tomorrow. Only rookies are eligible for your taxi squad. Each owner in the league will have until Thursday at approximately 5pm EST (so a few hours before week one kickoff) to place five rookies on their taxi squad and get their regular roster down to 35 players or less. At 5pm on Thursday I will be reducing team sizes back down to 35.

The way the taxi squad works is:
  • It essentially functions like IR in that it is a separate section on your team page.
  • Technically, you can put any player on your taxi squad. However, only rookies will be eligible in this league. I'm not going to worry about policing it for the next couple of days, so feel free to juggle players around until you get your five rookies there. However, on Thursday any non-rookies in a taxi squad will either be put onto your main roster or, if it's full, cut.
  • Rookies may remain on the taxi squad until next summer, at which point they will need to be replaced with rookies from next year's draft class prior to week one kickoff.
  • Once you promote a player from the taxi squad, they are no longer eligible to be put back on your taxi squad.
  • If you pick up a rookie from waivers, you may place them on your taxi squad if you have a spot open or want to call someone else up.
  • I will not police taxi squads during the offseason, but I will watch them during the regular season and keep a spreadsheet of who is eligible and who is not.
  • Any non-eligible players placed on a taxi squad illegally from Thursday's week one kickoff until the championship game will be cut from your team, so don't fuck around with this during the season.

Oh yeah, and if you add a rookie from waivers or via trade, they are eligible to be placed on your taxi squad so long as you put them there prior to them playing their next game.

Taxi squad has been added. Make sure you guys get five rookies there by Thursday afternoon and trim your main roster down to 35.

It should break down like this: 35 player active roster, five player taxi squad, three player IR.

Anyone need TE help? Gates is back, I'll take a mid round pick for him.

2017 Consolation Champion Whitner is Coming is back and ready for the 2018 season.

Official Week 1 Depth Chart released. Starters in bold. IR players in italics. Taxi squad members are starred.

QB: J. Garoppolo / A. Smith / J. Brissett / A.J. McCarron / K. Lauletta*
RB: M. Gordon / L. Miller / S. Perine / C. Michael / J. Samuels* / D. Guice*
WR: M. Thomas / M. Crabtree / R. Cobb / M. Sanu / R. Mathews / A. Miller / T. Benjamin / T. Taylor / T. Gabriel / A. Humphries / B. LaFell / J. Reynolds / J. Moore* / M. Hollins
TE: E. Ebron / C. Brate / G. Celek / T. Kroft / T. Higbee
DB: J. Ramsey / B. Church / K. Coleman / G. Conley / J. Reid*
DL: M. Addison / J. Hughes / A. Hicks / V. Vea
LB: L. Kuechly / T. Smith / V. Williams / B. Marshall / D. Lee / A. Williamson

Some notes:
  • I have way too many WRs, but no reason to cut pretty much any of them because there's nobody worthwhile on waivers right now to replace them with.
  • Derrius Guice, my first round pick in this year's rookie draft, is out for the season which completely murders my depth at RB. Gordon is tough and Miller should get plenty of carries, but the jury is out on the rest.
  • Pretty happy with my QB depth all things considered. Jimmy G and Smith should both start all season, Brissett and McCarron are both backups to guys who got hurt last season, and Lauletta could be a long-term play since he is now the backup to an aging Eli Manning after the Giants cut Davis Webb.
  • I think my core of WRs are solid, but not great. Thomas is elite and Crabtree should have a solid season as the #1 in Baltimore. Randall Cobb is still a pretty decent play since Aaron Rodgers is his QB, and Sanu is one of the better third options in the league in Atlanta behind Jones and Ridley. Beyond that, Mathews, Taylor, and Gabriel could all see spot starts. Benjamin and LaFell are vet depth that probably (hopefully) won't play.
  • I'm really excited to see if Anthony Miller, rookie out of Chicago, can turn into a starting caliber guy this year. He's the #3 guy in Chicago behind Benjamin and Gabriel, and could easily pass up the latter if he starts out strong. Definitely my team's star rookie since Guice is out for the season.
  • I don't have any of the star TEs in football, but I do have a pretty solid by-committee group where I'm going to have to try to play matchups each week. Ebron is going to split with Doyle which sucks, and Brate is going to split with Howard, which is worse. Celek will lose out on catches because of Kittle, and Kroft likely won't play until Eifert is knocked out for the year in week three. Higbee is an upside guy that I pray becomes playable.
  • I like my DB group. I'd throw any of the top-4 (Ramsey/Church/Coleman/Conley) and not worry much.
  • DLinemen are hard to project, so I just picked up Mario Addison as the lone Week-1 starter who wasn't on the team last season. Hughes and Hicks are run of the mill backups. Vita Vea is injured, but I'm hoping he's my DLine guy of the future.
  • My LB core is arguably the best in the league. Keuchly and Smith are both top-7/8 guys at the position, while Williams, Marshall, Lee, and Williamson could all fill in any week.

@sportscoach

You two still have illegal rosters and need to cut your active roster down to 35 players. You still have three potential IR spots (provided you have three guys eligible to be placed there) and five taxi squad spots to fill.

@cavsfan1985, you have been inactive on Fleaflicker since the draft. If you don't confirm with me that you are playing this year prior to kickoff tonight, I am going to find a replacement owner.

Since @sportscoach failed to make his cuts in time, I have made the following cuts from his roster:

Ronald Darby, CB PHI
Chris Conley, WR KC
Trey Flowers, DE NE
Malcolm Jenkins, S PHI

---

Rosters are now back down to 35 + 3 IR = 5 Taxi. Everyone else made their adjustments on time.

Final reminder to everyone in the league to set your rosters. Week one starts tonight. I will be actively policing game day rosters this year. If an owner fails to set their line-ups multiple times this year without a valid excuse, I will replace them with an owner who will.

I expect owners in this league to remain active and engaged. If you don't have the time to be an active owner or have lost interest in this league for any other reason, please let me know and I will find someone to take over your team.

Good luck to everyone this year, and may all your ACLs hold firm.

EDIT: I also don't ever get notifications in this section when I get tagged - might just be me, but it's 10x easier to reach me by PM if you want to do a deal or something, because I very rarely check Mazey or Fleaflicker messages.

I hardly ever get notifications when people tag me. Is it out of line to exchange phone numbers in this league?

I'd imagine you're free to exchange phone numbers with anyone willing to do it.

I'm in a dynasty league.

My team has sucked for two years, but I do have Julio and Ajayi, so this year is off to a solid start.
