Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
“If Tyrod leads us to the playoffs this year. Whose QB next year?”

“Mayfield, no question.”

I’ll try and get more this coming weekend.

Outside of catastrophic injury, I just don't see any scenario where Baker Mayfield isn't the starting QB of the Cleveland Browns in week 1 of 2019.

I think there's a really strong chance he gets there much sooner than that, but he's the guy after this year for sure. Taylor is a very good bridge QB, but still a bridge QB nonetheless.

As optimistic as we all are about the roster additions the Browns have made, it's just unrealistic to expect them to win 9+ games after going 0-16. They could win 6 or 7 and that would be a GREAT season all things considered.

I hope Tyrod comes in and balls out his 1 year here.

Show he can still play. Get a nice contract somewhere else. Get us some wins.

He can't be that big of an idiot to where we draft a QB #1 overall that played 4 seasons in college and thinks he will sit for the next couple of years.

This is about him coming in, showing he can still command a team (and shit, command a 1-31 team) to some victories. If he gets us some wins, someone pay the man. If he gets us to the playoffs, someone make him the highest paid QB :chuckle:

Thought you guys would like these tweets.

The Okie State V. OU rivalry is real.

They hate each other.

But they both hate Texas which is even more funny. Like it actually goes beyond football, they just flat out hate each other.

Fuck yeah. Wasn't a Mayfield guy but he's the Browns' guy now so he's mine too. Let's go. Let's turn this shit around.

Glad to see you on the wagon.

Lets get this shit rolling.

Say what you want about off-season tweets, it's better to hear this than not considering we need a mindset change in that locker room. Losing is infectious.

Really does remind me a hell of a lot of all the things we kept hearing about Russell Wilson heading into his rookie season. Obviously Mayfield and Wilson are different players, and I'm not trying to compare them on the field, but they both seem to have that intangible leadership aura around them where they can just instantly control a room and get everyone together.

The fact he uses We when talking about the Cabs shows at the very least he gets it. He understands what it means to play in Cleveland. I am not saying he needs to be a Cavs fan, but he dropped his allegiance to support the other in town sports team. I am not worried about his leadership, still a bit worried about his ability to make the reads quick enough, but only time will tell on that and i am rooting for him.

I can't really argue with the points you've made. But, the fact that 6 wins is considered a great season indicates just how low the bar is here and how conditioned the fans are to defeat. I mean the bar is literally on the ground. Most other places 6-10 is unacceptable and lousy.
