Reallistically- How long before will it take to be a top 2-3 seed in the East?

Unless Lebrons son is the undisputed #1 pick and clearly head and above everyone else I’d stay away.

If he was a great prospect LJ would return here and play for a year or two. He’d then advise his Son to sign a QO off his rookie contract and advise him to leave or sign a series of 1 and 1s. No thanks, I hope the final chapter is over honestly.

I dont see ten years..

I get the argument gour is making. We have the weakest link of a big three in Love, so why not lock him up now. There are worse players to assign as the face of the franchise..

Worst case he becomes more tradable for draft assets if he has another year. The problem with trading expirings, is that they want to give you back a bad contract..

Love would make sense for some teams that may be close to contention. I know NO just signed Randle, but Loves a better fit with Unibrow than he was with Lebron.

But I think a productive player is worth more to a franchise under a longer contract than on a one year..

I doubt this would be true of a JR, or Thompson.. I think those guys need to get jettisoned first. I think Hill and Korver are deadline guys. There always seems to be a last minute need for point guards and sharp shooters and by then we will have a read on Sexton and Cedi.

I would probably start Hill, Cedi, Green, Love and Nance.. which is not a terrible team, and bring Clarkson, Sexton, Zizic, and Korver off the bench. We could use more big, if we can find it.. but there are worse lineups in the league.

Lol!!!!!

Bruh with Gilbert as owner were done

Green is gone (that would have been a huge waste had he stayed). And honestly Hill should not be starting for more then a month. He is going to long gone by the trade deadline next year, so why give him starter minutes unless Sexton is not ready.

I really want to give significant time to Cedi, and Sexton as long as they are not over their heads. Those guys could be 2 of our future starting 5 when we are ready to contend if things fall in place. I also want have a long look as Zizic and Nance, I am not as high on them being future starters, but they can be nice rotational pieces off the bench going forward.

Next year is going to be critical for Hood, he will be 26 and we should have a much clearer sense on who he is, and if he is worth keeping long term.

It's an omen, the rebuild will be short.

The only player I would be in a hurry to get rid of is J. R. I think TT and Love can still contribute if they get their act together. #1 Goal, get playing time and develop young guys we have. #2 Get the locker room under control with solid vets and #3 Get rid of bad contracts and acquire assets. Tanking at all costs is a bad idea for several reasons.
