Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didn't realize Terrence Jones was available - he would be interesting. I loved him in college, he was spotty in HOU but off the bench we could do alot worse - he is pretty rangy / athletic, could maybe play the 3/4.

Not sure it would be the best use of our MMLE but hopefully Griff is considering it.

Hopefully some of those guys hang on in FA until the money is dried up. Jordan Hill is a guy I'd like on this team if at all possible.

He was touted as 3x the player Tristan was just 2 years ago on this very board. Wow, how times have changed. I liked him when I saw him, but they play several dudes in front of him the past couple years.

If you assume the depth chart below:

PG- Kyrie, Mo, Kay
SG- JR, Shump, McRae
SF- LBJ, RJ, Jones (whichever doesnt retire)
PF- Love, Frye
C- TT, Kaun

Its clear you need a SF & C. Of that list I would take a shot on the following players. If JR happens to leave, your F'd beyond belief.

- Derrick Williams
- Wayne Ellington (Personal pick)
- Gerald Green
- Thomas Robinson
- Larry Sanders
- Robert Sacre
- Chris Kaman

Of that group, I would imagine all could play minutes in a series vs GSW (minus Kaman). Sanders, Green, and even Dwill could change that series based on their athleticism. Doubtful that entire list can be had for the price of the veterans minimum & MMLE with all the money going around. I would be interested to see what happens with both of the Jones as well. Dahntay is under contract & Champs has yet to announce retirement.

Rumor has kaun being gone.

So we need a pf/c, combo forward and a backup pg.

I cant find any reason to keep Kaun. Nothing against him, but with his best buddy gone, hes sort of out of place. If we need a corpse at the end, after we get Sanders, I give Kaman a call. He can be serviceable when called upon.

I'd also call up Aaron Brooks. He had a bad year in Chicago last season, but his two seasons prior were half-way decent and he's only 31. While he can get a little chuck happy, he's been an above average 3 point shooter most of his career.

This is only if Barbosa is too high priced, though.

With Mozgov gone, I think we need two bigs. I'd take Hill, Sanders, or Dedmon to replace Moz. And I'd take Hickson, Birdman, Perk, Lee, Acy, or Scola to replace Kaun. I'm guessing Terrance Jones, Speights, and even Bass are way out of our price range.

Back up PG, I'd guess Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole are the preference since they seem like the best players left, and LeBron knows them both. Sloan would be decent too. I personally like Huertas. I think we should trade/cut Mo, and pick up one of these guys. And then give Felder the 3rd string PG with a chance to win the back up job.

And people hate on Ray Allen, but I'd take him over Dahntay Jones. Especially if JR or Shump go down or aren't 100%, we could use Ray's shooting. He is friends with LeBron. But if he goes to GS, that is a betrayal to LeBron. He might be 41, but if he can still shoot and is in good shape like usual, what is the difference? People think Ray is done, but I bet he can still produce.

Not sure anyone left is worth MLE money (that we could afford) except Stephenson, Speights, and perhaps Barbosa. Terrance Jones would probably get more, as well as Stephenson and Speights honestly. And Mario and Norris are probably worth MLE, but I'd rather get one on a minimum.

I can we live without Kaun in a thong.

Gerald Green might be available with our money. Fell out of Miami's rotation it seemed. If we can get him to play defense, he has great speed and length to guard 2 guards and 3's.

Jordan Hill would be great but we don't have the money. Barbosa too.

Also is Michael Beasley still out there? Didn't see him on the original list. Actually played good ball during the second half of last year.

Terrence Jones really interests me as a SF/PF option. Dedmon interests me as a center option along with Larry Sanders. As far as PG it probably comes down to Chalmers or Cole.

I deleted Wade, Jefferson, and Barbosa from the original post. We can use this as a general free agency thread.

Doubt the Cavs can afford either at this point but Terrence Jones and even Josh Smith would be VERY interesting pieces for the Cavs. An ideal finish for the Cavs would be finding a way to get Sanders out of retirement, signing JR and pulling in a guy like Terrence. I just feel like Josh Smith has potential left if he just accepted a bench role and was willing to put in the work.
