He's someone the Nets let go, soooooo....

I mean, I guess he's young but who knows.

He's only played in 39 NBA games.

He was a slightly positive defender via DRPM at 0.64.

DRTG was league average, around 108.

Doesn't block a ton of shots, doesn't get steals.

Just seems like a young body that could be had for cheap.

75% of his FGA were at the rim....looks like he has zero offensive game.

With only 10 MPG of data, it's kind of useless though.

He was a 25 year old rookie who the Nets cut loose. Just bench fodder at this point.

He also comes with some personal baggage......he was in trouble in college and left the Nets for personal reasons in the spring.

he's a bonehead, but hard not to be interested in PJ Hairston as a back end of the bench development player. Provides some young legs (along with McCrae) if we want to have any hope of getting bron some rest this year.

Hopefully, being surrounded by Lebron, RJ, James Jones, Frye, and learning first hand from JR about past mistakes could get his head right.
 
If I had to take a guess, I think we are done.

We'll sign J.R., LeBron, Felder and J. Jones...... cut D. Jones and just roll with a 14 man roster.

We'll likely have someone like Chalmers with a verbal agreement (when he's healthy) and then we'll sign him to a prorated vet deal in January, saving some tax.
 
Dedmon was the guy. Can't believe Cavs weren't on that.

How can the Cavs let so many Vet Min./mMLE guys go to other teams chasing rings, and aren't even on them?

If they're not already one of LBJ's friends, it seems like they aren't coming.

Depressing. Will there be an actual center left by the time Cavs act or is it Tristan or bust? They can't be serious about Sasha Kaun. The team has no size at all. Frye is not guarding anyone inside.
 
GS will fill their bench with D-Leaguers like Willie Reed, and this could really be what spoils their plans of winning a chip.

Agree but Dedmon signed for 3M$ per season n Cavs don't have that since they signed RJ. The guy wanted to go to GSW but took another great team's money so would hv been hard for Cavs. Think Nene would hv been ideal at that price and they could hv sold him on playing time but they didn't as the mMLE was for RJ (he deserves it but think it might bite the Cavs later)

Just because we don't sign someone does that mean we weren't in on them?
I mean maybe we didn't even look his way, but maybe we did and for a few important reasons he liked his other options better.

Since we used the MLE to re-sign Jefferson and give Felder a third year on his rookie deal, best we could have offered Dedmon is vet min.

But probably more important is opportunity for minutes. Yes the Spurs added Gasol, but they've lost Duncan, Boban, Diaw, and West.

So way more opportunity for a young guy like Dedmon to play then here with TT/Love/Frye already entrenched.

Duncan hasn't retired yet. Still think that's really small. Birdman is already 38, numbers falling like he needs Med Alert bracelet, if that's the option, gonna laugh/puke.

TT better keep that streak going, he's the only thing standing between team and oblivion.
