Remaining 2016 Free Agents

How much you think Sanders would want?

Duncan hasn't retired yet. Still think that's really small. Birdman is already 38, numbers falling like he needs Med Alert bracelet, if that's the option, gonna laugh/puke.

TT better keep that streak going, he's the only thing standing between team and oblivion.

Would have been a nice pickup.

But once we move past Jefferson getting a portion of the MLE is just comes down to:

Spurs pitch: 3 million a year, share the front court with Pau and maybe Duncan. Both ancient and needing to have their minutes watched in the reg season

Cavs pitch: vet min, share the frontcourt with Love, TT, Frye, and we play a lot of small ball.

They do need to add a fourth big. And like you, I prefer it's a real center.

GS will fill their bench with D-Leaguers like Willie Reed, and this could really be what spoils their plans of winning a chip.
I would COMPLETELY dsagree. Deep in the playoffs all teams (including G.S.) shorten their rotation and only play 8-9 players (unless its a blowout where players 10-12 might get some time). G.S. has at least 8-9 good players already so they are set, Durant, Curry, Green, Thompson, Iggy, Pachulia, West, Livingston, Allen.... so there you go. It doesn't matter who they fill the rest of the roster with. They have 4 of the top 10-12 best players on Earth and as a Cavs fan I am panicking!

I don't think that much. I would just give him a training camp deal and see how he does from there. Who knows how taking a year off did to his game.

4 of the best 10-12 players on Earth?????

Lebron James
Kevin Durant
Steph Curry

Top 3 locks. Opinions can put them in any order.

Kyrie Irving
Damian Lillard
Chris Paul
Anthony Davis
Kawhi Leonard
James Harden
Russell Westbrook
Carmelo Anthony
Paul George
KAT
Dwayne Wade
Demarcus Cousins
Hasan Whiteside
Lamarcus Aldridge

Then you have all the guys above that I would bet most GMs and fans would rather have than Green or Klay. I still feel like I'm missing a name or two. Both are great players, but to put them in the top 10 is ridiculous. They are all stars, but a lot of that has to do with the roles they are playing. Put Draymond Green on the Pistons, they are right where they are today...no better, no worse. Replace Bradley Beal with Klay Thompson, they barely sneak into the playoffs. Every name in the second list are playmakers, all stars, and franchise players.

At the end of the day, its all opinion based & fit based, but no way in hell do Klay or Green belong in the top 10.

Can a team sign a free agent or someone currently not in the league (Sanders) with a TPE or does that have to be like within a team to team trade?

Draymond Green, is not a top 12 player in the NBA okay? He is a great role player but IDK where this top 12 nonsense started. I wouldn't want him as my #1 or #2 option.

To free agency, here are the players left that I would want on the Cavs:

Guards: Chalmers, Felton, Norris Cole, Lance Stephenson
Wings: Crabbe, Harkless - both are restricted and I'd assume Portland would match anything Cavs offered
Big Men: Larry Sanders, Terrence Jones, Thomas Robinson, Jordan Hill

I like to see the Cavs try to steal some younger players who still have room to improve, or players who have gotten lost in the shuffle. Felton is really the only exception to that on this list. He played well in the playoffs last year and I've got mad respect for what he did against OKC.

My #1 target here would have to be Terrence Jones. I have always been a big Terrence Jones fan because he is big, athletic and very versatile. He started a few games for Houston this year, put up good numbers, and then went to not even in the rotation...I'm not exactly sure what the deal is with him, but he is the type of player I want the Cavs to take a chance on. You could use him at the 5 in a small ball lineup as well as play him at the 4 at any time. I could easily see him having playoff games like the one Dahntay Jones had, where he comes in, makes a huge block, catches a lob, and completely swings the momentum of a game by only playing 8 minutes.

We should definitely get Norris Cole. Good defender and knows LeBron, would be a solid pickup.

I would put Kyrie right their with Steph. He made a huge leap forward through the playoffs. At 24, its tye type of thing that propels a player.

Ok....You are right, I exaggerated a little, Maybe 4 top 20 players. But still, Green and Thompson are underrated even to this day. Green can do everything, literally. And Thompson is one of the best shooters I have even seen plus he plays great D. On his own team or as a #1 option I could see Klay getting 23-26ppg while being a very good defender...

Can a team sign a free agent or someone currently not in the league (Sanders) with a TPE or does that have to be like within a team to team trade?

The Traded-Player Exception can't be used to sign free agents (or someone not currently in the league).

It can be used to facilitate trades and it can also be used to claim players placed on waivers (if the TPE exceeds the player's full salary).
