Resting Guys = Heavy fines?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Am I the only one that thinks there is a legit gripe here?

The players get the money they are currently getting because of the T.V. deal.

GMs get a bigger salary cap to work with beause of the T.V. deal.

Owners get a ton of money from the T.V. deal.

They aren't living up to their end of the deal by resting healthy players during nationally televised games.

This a pretty classic case of one side having cake and eating it too without realizing where the cake came from.

There is a legit gripe for the networks and fans. But it's not Griffin's or Pop's job to appease either. Their job is to have the their teams best positioned for the playoffs and to potentially win another championship.

James Harden took an entire fucking playoff series off last year when he looked like he couldn't even be bothered to show up against Golden State in the first round.

Where was all of this blessed just to be here bull shit when he sleep walked to a non-competitive sweeping?

Not to mention when he quit against the Clippers the year before and was actually benched before the Rockets miraculous comeback.

He hit a game winner (the one where D12 and the Rox bench was upset about having to delay their vacation plans) and avg 26.6/5.2/7.6/2.4Stl on .555TS% against the best D in the NBA.

It's not their job directly, but it's the NBA's job to hold up its end of a business deal. Seeing as they both work for the NBA in some capacity, it does become their job.

Silver's hand is being forced, and nobody is going to like the result.

As previously discussed, the future of this "epidemic" is what the Cavs did tonight. Making up minor injuries as an excuse to hold players out. Nothing will actually change. Just the injury report will say "sprain" or "illness" or "tightness" instead of "rest."

It was a hot topic for a couple days, though.
