Rodney Hood: Won't be missed

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He will be happy that Wade is gone. For some reason I think JR had a tough time accepting Wade.
Probably jealous LeBron giving Wade too much of his personal time? JR wants to be LeBron's best friend. Wade was competition.

Rodney Hood is the best player in this deal - Absolutely great talent. I've watched a ton of Utah games this season and man can he score. I haven't really paid that close of attention to his D (utah has pretty strong team d) , but he can score the damn ball and has pretty deep range.

I would compare him to almost a Michael Redd esque player?

Im not really familiar with this player can someone fill me in on the plus and minus of this guy

most exciting player in the trade. dude can BALL. he's gonna flourish alongside lebron. he SHOULD start but because of the love affair that Lue and JR got going on i won't hold my breath.

No excuse to start JR now.

JR must not get more than 15 mins a night until he proves his shot is going down consistently and he's putting in effort on D. If you limit his minutes, you can interchange him better when he's clanking it off the side of the backboard. Osman should also suck up his mins.

I bet my money on Lue still playing JR 30mins a night and Hood out performs him in 15-20mins.

Think J.R is still gonna start, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't J.R get upset and pout when we first got wade, and lue started wade over J.R?

Interesting analysis of Hood's game at Fear the Sword:

https://www.fearthesword.com/2018/2/8/16992766/new-cavalier-breakdown-rodney-hood-trade

The biggest rap on his offensive game, seen a couple of places now, seems to be that he is timid and shys away from contact, meaning he doesn't finish well close to the hoop, doesn't draw fouls, and can be intimidated. But he is a good shooter and ball handler with a very well-rounded game.

Apparently needs some work on defense, but has the tools and gives effort.

Rodney Hood is a slightly longer version of a young Michael Redd. He's a versatile scorer, he has that smooth lefty stroke, and he's been a little banged up in his career. Remember, we tried so hard to pair Redd with James back in the day--and that would've been glorious. Instead, we got ourselves Larry Stinkin' Hughes.

This guy is going to be LeBron's pet project, I can guarantee it. This is the young guy James is going to take under his wing, pour knowledge into, and turn into a better player. Hood is about ready to explode. He tried to do it with Kyrie, and Kyrie rebuffed him because, well, Kyrie is a cocky little twat.

Rodney Hood, if he and LeBron both stay on next year, is going to eventually be an all-star. I promise you.

Jr will start...also looking at what we have left the Wade trade still bothers me...counting on Clarkson or Calderon to run the 2nd unit in a late playoff series is a bit much IMO...as much as I like Cedi as well would it be fair to have him running some PG duties vs GS in the finals vs Livingston?.. I don't know but I feel like late in close games Wade was a guy you would want on the court ... I just personally seen minutes available for him and the others especially when he rests

That said Im excited about all the new additions and I feel like Wade should have still gotten his minutes while providing great leadership... I mean we went from him being phenomenal leading that second unit to all of a sudden not getting any minutes and it doesn't make any sense to me... The biggest problem in our losing streak was messing with that continuity that our bench had IMO and the insertion of IT
