Round 1 Game 1 | Cavs vs Pacers | April 15, 2018 | 3:30 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not going to panic over one game, but if we come back with the same strategy and a similar result...

What needs changed?

We held them to 98 points we just didn’t hit ANY shots. We have to simply make shots and make fucking free throws. The rotation needs tightened up and Korver needs to play more that’s about it

What was our mindset today

??

Wow Lue is taking shots at Kevin Love

Love has a problem with his mind state right

Don’t remember what was his issue

He wrote a story about t right

I can think of more than a few. Is that really all you think needs changed?

Cavs gave up 33 in the first quarter. Cavs shot 50% from inside the arc, but took 44% of their shots from beyond the arc, making 24%. We seen it time and time again: the threes aren’t falling, but the Cavs keep firing away, because they are either too lazy or tired to attack, or because they think they won’t get calls.

When the threes are falling, everything is hunky-dory. When the threes aren’t falling, the Cavs just aren’t creative enough to score another way. And their defense isn’t good enough to generate points in transition. A coach with a brain would make in-game adjustments, but we don’t have one of those.

It's really sad seeing all the other NBA teams have their role players hit big shots and our guys can't hit the wide side of a barn in practise...

What stands out? Sloppiness. The inability to get a rebound. Green, Korver, and Hood missing shots. Lue waiting way too long to make adjustments.

Lue waiting too long to make adjustments is why I wish he never came back to the team. Our guys looked happier even when he was away from the team.

If only we had a backup PG like Derrick Rose that could attack the rim.....

Guy is playing amazing right now.

He is so weird. At times he looks like he can get to the rim at will, then.. stops and turns dumb.

Then why oh why did he do next to nothing in Oklahoma?

He's getting sloppy blowjobs from the Indiana media and fans because he has a degree from that POS school down in bloomington..

What? Your blind rage at every fan base can be amusing at times, but this silly. Oladipo has been a monster all year and a legit top 20 player.

Yep, we have to value the basketball more. Every possession in the playoffs is more important. LeBron has said this multiple times himself in the past. We need to stop with the touchdown passes that are heavily guarded. We threw at least 3 of those today that were far too risky and resulted in turnovers. And yeah, we have to get tougher on the boards and more careful with our passes in general.

This is why I advocated for getting LeBron in the post as our primary offense against these guys several times during and after the game. Putting LeBron in the post slows things down, and I feel it really negates their ability to use their speed to cause us problems while trying to run sets. It's not something we can do all game every game, but we should be going to it to control the pace and get easy baskets when we are struggling. We had a lot of passes intercepted or deflected in the half court that would not occur if we ran the offense out of the post. As we know, LeBron is very good at finding the open man for a shot or someone cutting to the hoop. Most of the time out of the post, he can throw a bullet pass to someone and they'll have enough time to get the shot up.

Guys. Weird to day to be busy with some new jobs and some other new stuff I’m getting into.

On one hand, it’s sort of a relief to miss the shitshow that this game was and I’m sure the game thread refelected that, as it should have.

I can’t offer any opinions or critique since I wasn’t able watch or listen to any of it( and only had time to follow game cast for about 5 minutes)

But suffice to say, I’m as disappointed and bummed as all of you.

The only thing I’d add is how the playoffs shift so quickly from game to game and the only thing that matter is not losing 4 games total in any one series. So today sucked but hopefully we survive and advance and gel and peak as things go further along. That’s just a hope though. I honestly have no idea what to expect.
