Round 1 Game 4 Cleveland Cavaliers (3-0) @ Indiana Pacers (0-3) SUNDAY, APRIL 23 1:00 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Years from now, people will ask about the Block, or the Three, or the Curse.

And I'll say, "Let me tell you about JR Smith"

Not sure what to do about JR. His head was up his own ass all game and he's been poor since returning

Though the played pretty well outside of the massive brain fart at the end

This series could have been 3-1 to Indiana.. that's how bad the Cavs have been.. fake sweep. Let's hope they improve.

PHEW................................ too close.

This year's sweep ended similarly to last year's Detroit sweep and posters were saying similar things.

I am majorly concerned with our back-court and coaching though. Kyrie, JR, and Lue don't appear to be sure things right now.

lol @ the media. Last year's Detroit sweep was a 'competitive sweep' and this season's sweep Yahoo has already titled 'historically tight series'.

I don't get what you mean by this. Literally the only success the Cavs have had defensively this year and in this series has been when switching. Hedging hard doesn't work because Kyrie takes so long to get around the pick setter. Trapping has been a travesty all season long with the Cavs slow team foot speed.
AC, you know I respect you man, but this is completely wrong. Stats per Synergy:

Regular Season:
-Kyrie on switches off a pick-and-roll = 1.12 points per possession, bottom 19% of NBA and fourth worst in NBA for players who have defended at least 50 possessions.
-Kyrie goes away from pick = .815 points per possession, top 20% in NBA.
-Kyrie goes into pick w/out switch = 1.009 points per possession, bottom 44% in NBA.

As you can see, during the regular season, switching was by far Kyrie's worst defense on the pick-and-roll. Now let's look at the playoffs:
-Kyrie on switches = 1.66 points per possession
-Kyrie going away from pick = Not done
-Kyrie goes into pick w/out switch = 1 point per possession

There are other strategies outside of going away (such as going under or over) that Lue has not used. During the regular season going over resulted in 1.009 points per possession and going under resulted in 1.094. Both better than Kyrie on switches. Switching is statistically Kyrie's worst defensive strategy and it has been that way for a long time.

not everyone can sit their best player, lose their head coach and still embarrass professional NBA teams. i thought this was the playoffs

I'm sorry, did you just say he was terrible in ALL aspects of the game?

You can not be serious. There are things to critique but you just ruined your post with that type of no merit hyperbole
To his standards? Yes.
Low 3PT %, tunnel vision and low assists, bad defense. The team looked so much more fluent with Deron instead of Kyrie

Good stuff. Can you clarify what you mean by going away from the pick? Like when the offensive player goes away from the pick?
