Anything on his injury status?

Anything on his injury status?

Well with the news of Gaines/Kirksey going to IR today and Ward was not, that bodes well we will see him again.

First injury report isn't due until sometime today. So we will see what happens.

Plus, their own ranking versus who they think will actually win the award are two separate sentiments.

He did a phenomenal job on Calvin Ridley today.

Turnover generation is random. It relies on the other team making mistakes. Ward makes his own luck.

Kid is special.

Dude flat out erased Ridley who is having a pretty good rookie year... was interesting seeing Carrie on Julio for most of the game but hey it worked so who the hell cares

They used Randall over the top on Julio for most of the plays while leaving Ward alone on Ridley.

Ward because of his size would be a tough one on one matchup for Julio, but any corner has a hard time taking Julio one on one, it was actually a brilliant defensive game plan.

Amazing what coaches can do when you don't have 6 starters out injured.

His speed means he can torch corners. I think the reason we put Ward on Ridley was that Julio Jones is a constant. Even with Ward, Jones still probably gets five catches and close to 100 yards.

But, the difference is that Ward can shutdown long receptions, and Carrie cannot. Ridley has been a huge touchdown threat this year because he beats corners and runs. They used Carrie and Randall in tandem on Julio and let Ward shutdown someone else.

It was a risky decision but it worked out. I thought they'd test Ward on Julio, but my guess is they felt that Ward shutting down Ridley was more valuable than him looking average against Julio.

Yep. Ridley did nothing all game til garbage time, running for 30 yards after Ward slipped.

It's too bad Ward dropped the pick earlier in the game (just recovering in time to deflect the pass was amazing in itself, though). He probably would have housed it.

He didn't really drop it. He turned into Ridley and saw the ball at the last second at it hit his forearm. He never really came close to being able to catch it. (man those hips are amazing, most corners cant put themselves in that position)

Yeah but did you guys see that missed tackle which resulted in a Falcons player getting an extra 25 yards or so? A better athlete wouldn’t have slipped.
