What's the verdict on Val at this point?
I was wrong, I can tell you that much.
What's the verdict on Val at this point?
Cleveland is running him off the floor. Toronto can't play him.
Toronto forums seem agreed that Val needs to go in the off-season.
Their mistake is having him on Love. They need Ibaka as the rim protector but unfortunately Jonas isn't mobile enough to defend Kevin at the perimeter. I just don't think Lowry or Derozan are doing a good enough job making sure he gets into good post position. Dude towers over the rest of our team, but they're stupid enough to keep him further away from the basket on both offense and defense. I do love that Kevin has been doing an amazing job using his lower center of gravity keeping Jonas away slightly. But there have been enough plays where Lowry or Joseph threw the ball to him 16 feet away from the basket. We've all seen that he has a decent post touch and not the worst jumper. But he's being completely misused. And we're taking advantage of it.
JV won't start next game. In fact, I would be surprised if he gets more than 15 minutes off the bench tomorrow.
If they were smart they would start Tucker at PF, but we shall see.
We had two plays with Tucker on Love. He looked like Lance Stephenson out there.
They might be better off starting Poltl, Nogueira or Siakam.
