You know what's under reported?

Elliot Wolf and Alonso Highsmith casually throwing out there that Nick Chubb reminds them of Jamal Lewis. If they are correct, Nick Chubb is going to be a hall of famer.

He is on the mix to possibly be a HOFer, but there are a few modern running backs who should get in before him. The way the NFL works, you wait to be the top player at your position in that HOF class. I'd wager Edge James, Corey Dillon, Ricky Watters are ahead, maybe even Warrick Dunn. Eventually Shady, AP and Gore will be elgible and they are more deserving as well.

Onto Chubb, I'm a big fan of his running style. What people forget about that National Championship game was that A. He ran wild over a decent Oklahoma defense the week before getting 145 yards on the ground and B. He has 24 career games over 100 yards and 3 games over 200 yards rushing while always being in a two back rotation. There will be days he defers to Hyde and days he picks up the slack for Hyde. That is how a two back system works.

What I find funny is Chubb can’t have a bad game without it forever blemishing him as a prospect, but Barkley can have several stinkers and that’s fine he’s still a generational talent because combine

Carlos Hyde at the combine at around 230 pounds:

40 YARD DASH: 4.66 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 19 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 34.5 INCH
BROAD JUMP: 114.0 INCH

Nick Chubb at the combine at about 230 pounds:

40 Yard Dash 4.52
Bench Press 29 REPS
Vertical Jump 38.5 INCHES
Broad Jump 128.0 INCHES

That's a punishing 1/2 punch who can minimize wear and tear as a duo. When one guy needs to heal up for a minor injury, or unfortunately a major one, Duke jumps in and takes more handoffs. It's a nice problem to have in a stadium built to establish the run.

Barkley is really not that great of a runningback. He’s a phenomenal receiving back and looks like his agility can transform an offense, but, I really don’t think he’ll excel as a traditional runningback.

Chubb is a stud!!! This was the steal of the draft, and I'm so happy to have the Browns be that team to draft him. He's the SECOND all time leading rusher in SEC HISTORY. Let that sink in people. We will love this guy. Great pick!!!

Did you just happen to watch the draft on your TiVo? :chuckle:

No to be honest with you when I visit this site it's 99% of the time for the Cavs. I don't think of the Browns when I come to this site. Just sayin

He was joking. Relax.

I'm relaxed man, just pointing out how I felt. LOL

But to your point - yes, I am extremely thrilled to have drafted him.

His ligament issue is a concern, but if he can be our 1-2nd down guy for the next 4 years until his contract runs out, I will be happy as hell.

And having Hyde to "mentor" him is a nice perk, too.

Not that it matters, but it is so insane Bo ran a 4.12 at the same size at the combine. Chubb is super athletic and didnt even come close to comparing to Bo.

Hyde your Johnson Chubb cuz we be rapin' the league this year.
