You dont hand the ball 11 times to a rookie unless you see something in him.. OL sucks at the run, but I expect better from him anyway.. you can bet he will spend some time in the film roomThe bad: Chubb looked hesitant. He knew there wasn't much of a hole opening up for him, so he tended to drag defenders straight ahead to minimize the loss. Eventually, there were some cut back opportunities that he just missed seeing. The game needs to slow down for him so he sees those openings and explode through them.
The good: He caught a third down pass. I think he is a better receiver than he got credit for in Georgia. When Todd Gurley was there, Chubb played passing downs.
The main thing to me is that the backups on the offensive line had a poor performance. They shouldn't look like rookies. Corbett is the only guy I give a pass to from that second group.
The run blocking was pitiful last night.Bad line or just disappointing so far?
Chubb will need to learn how to become a good pass blocker. I can't remember the last time the Browns had a RB who could protect the QB.Outside of the box-score, Chubb was solid in pass protection & blocking. He's got to learn to hit holes quicker, but as Keys said, there weren't many holes to hit.
By definition that means he was getting hit in the backfield on a bunch of his carries. But, I see some people bashing the rookie in his first pro game. Nice.Saw a stat that PFF credited Chubb with 26 yards after contact despite only rushing for 11 total yards...
Line play certainly didn’t so him any favors based on that stat
Dude is alot faster than I thought. Thought he was a 4.6 guy, but he showed a 2nd gear yesterday to actually pull away from dbs.
Chubb is going to be a great 1-2 punch with hyde once the weather worsens. Add duke as a change of pace and i think we're looking at something special
