Sager says he has 3-6 months to live

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Damn I thought he beat it that's why he came back

Most cancer is different. That's the issue.

Nailed it on the head. All people react to cancer differently. Believe me, there are cutting-edge medicinal trials occurring regularly but they are, in fact, trials. All bodies respond to cancer differently. Having watched my father lose his battle with pancreatic cancer, some of the stories i've heard were astounding. People admitted to the same trials, with the same prognosis, react completely differently.

There are so many different elements in play with cancer. Mental health is typically a huge factor in recovery rate but there's little research behind it. Not enough research is the problem. Millions are donated to cancer research regularly but that money is typically going to the same research (breast, prostate, etc.)

The doctors told us that pancreatic cancer has one of the worst mortality rates but yet receives a very small percentage of donation money to fund research.

Craig is a standup guy. Very sad news to hear.

With a “liquid” cancer like leukemia at his age, it’s never really cured because it’s nearly impossible to remove every cancerous cell from the body. The best one can hope for is that it goes into remission long enough where it doesn’t pop back up again.

I do take issue with the 8 people who liked the first post like this is Facebook where you like everything because it's the only option.

Oh wait, just like here, Facebook now has multiple options.

Companies that make vaccines and antibiotics would disagree.
Nope, the goal is to at least hook you up for as long as possible.
Oncology is my field of work and the amount of supporting meds and pain killers and... Just amazing how much stuff is forced into you just to keep it going for a few months. If they do cure you, or to be exact put the devil into remission, your kidneys or something else needs long term meds support.
Cancer vaccines (or target meds, immunotherapy in general) that might save patients are enormously priced, patient specific development is pricey. Or so they say.
To be fair which industry wants to put out a true ultimate product?
It really is a tough battle and it is unfair. The only positive imo is that you are made damn aware that your life is close to an end and you might get time to finish the unfinished in your life.
Good luck to Sager.

I don't believe that if someone literally creates"the magic pill" they don't find a way to profit off it.

Double mortgages on you and your families houses of it guarantees you beat cancer.

I don't know how he's kept his composure in all of these interviews. Hell, I'M barely holding it together every time he's on, and I don't even know the guy.

I like that he is still fighting, but it's a little sad that he likes being on TV so much instead of taking his last but of time off to spend with his family. I guess working helps keep your mind off it. I can respect that part.

What if he really loves what he does, knows his ability to do it could end any day, and is taking advantage of every minute available to do it? Is his family also going to take off the next 3 months from work to spend this while remaining time with him? No. He can only be a sideline reporter for two more months, then the season is over. If he was my dad, I want him out there doing what he loves for every minute he still can.

Yeah well I hope that's the case. I just know so many of these guys are workaholics.
