I don't think Tyreke would fit well. I guess he fits the play maker role, but his shooting and defense is suspect. And we have plenty of 2 guards which is his primary position. Which maybe he could guard some SF's too, but I don't think we will pay that much for essentially a back up PG when so many decent back up PG's will be on the market relatively cheap.
But, I guess I could get it. If it is just at the cost of Shump and it is the best we can get, I'd probably be okay with it. A better ball handler, creator, and scorer. I just think Rudy Gay would give us a tougher dynamic to matchup with because he is a better shooter, bigger, and probably just a better player. But that is preference.
For Shump, either player would make us more dynamic. Tyreke can play 1-3 spots. Rudy can play 2-4. Both can handle the ball. Both can get their own shot. Both better than Shump. Either makes us a tougher team.
Looks like Tyreke is coming off an injury, so he can probably be had rather easily. That is concerning, especially since it was a knee injury. But if we believe he is healthy now, perhaps we take that risk. That is a big risk though.
