Slow Cookers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm surprised that you didn't have one already.

Make sure you get the grilled skillet for aesthetic purposes.

I failed to do so and though the meat was perfect, it didn't look as good as it could. I later got that two way iron skillet from WS that is a flat griddle on one side, and a grill on the other.

I have a cast iron hot plate surface that goes over two burners. I'll use that for searing. I like the huge surface area. One of these days I'll probably grab a cast iron skillet as well.

I'm over here making corned beef and cabbage dinner with a Dutch oven, knowing most of you have a sous vide going... feeling like a simple Neanderthal with my primitive tools.

No, sir!

Sous Vide is worthless for corned beef!

For that, the Instant Pot with WiFi. I'm cooking from Half Moon Bay.

Dutch ovens are awesome.

The ultimate Dutch oven slow cooked meal is the national dish of Poland - Bigos. I made it once when I had my Polish mother-in-law and family were over during the holidays. It's unknown in the Polish American community and is a ton of work. Hunter's stew made from game.

Anyone have an air fryer? Keep hearing great things.

I don't have one, but I was talking to a parent who says their ASD kid used to never eat veggies aside from fast food fries, but after buying an air fryer the kid eats any and all veggies made in it. It was an impressive vote of confidence.

BTW - Stannis: Half Moon Bay is the shit. A co-worker and her Google techie husband just bought a place there. I'm exceedingly jealous.

I do...it's a great time saver.

I make mozzarela sticks, taquitos, egg rolls...sometimes bacon or chicken wings. Reheat leftover fries.

I like its convenience.

I know, if the commute weren't so bad to Palo Alto we'd move there.

We used to go every other weekend when we lived in San Mateo, but it is a ways from SJ.

My first year in Cali, I used to buy to go sushi and make the hour drive to eat it right at that beach. It always seemed less foggy than S.F. Glad you found it.

BTW, this year I reduced the braising liquid for the corned beef down with two pats of butter, a tablespoon of brown sugar, a teaspoon corn starch, a shot of cider vinegar, and a cup of horseradish to make horseradish gravy. I usually pour the braising liquid down the drain. Never again.
