It can be overshadowed, overrated, overplayed, or anything in between. Post whatever you've been listening to, a song that you haven't heard in years, or something under the radar that you think the rest of us should hear.

Not meant to conflict with the Hip Hop Discussion thread (http://realcavsfans.com/community/index.php?threads/official-hip-hop-thread.18789/) - this thread is mostly for posting songs and not discussing current music events / future albums.

I'll start:

Just heard about the story of Rodriguez - a Detroit songwriter in the 70s who had no idea he was a huge hit in South Africa. Worked as a laborer, South Africa thought he died on the streets. Really cool documentary.

Heard this one in the Game of Thrones S7 trailer, and have been listening to it pretty regularly since then.

I recently released some singles.

One more from Sixto Rodriguez, that movie was so good I'm unable to listen to anything else but the soundtrack right now.

One song a day from different poster would be pretty cool to keep up and see people's tastes and learn some new tunes. I, admittedly, am not aware of or follow anything that's new. I tend to listen to older stuff or talk radio.

If someone posts a second song in a day, we have to promise to never, ever listen to that song as long as we live.

Here's one that I listened to for the first time in a while...

Waitin' For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago

I don't think ZZ Top gets enough credit for some of the stuff they've put out. I dig their bluesy-rock mix.

Yes!! Rodriguez is nothing short of a prophet. I've been an enormous fan of the man since seeing "Searching For Sugar Man" several years ago, and saw him perform at the Akron Civic Theater this past March with my fiancee' and mother. He sounded fantastic and was very engaging and amusing. Here's a couple of my favorite of his tunes.

One of the best singer songwriters of the Rust Belt, I am among those who missed out on his impact until the movie came out. One for us to be proud of, even if he was a Detroit guy I connected with his life. Lots of Cleveland folk would.
