Texans' Record Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah but JJ Watt is one bad motherfucker

He is going to go right back to eating human beings before the game as sacrifices and ending QBs seasons during the game

I'm not counting on him being anything other than the very best defensive player in the NFL... again

Deshaun Watson Shines vs. Panthers in Professional Debut for Texans

ALEC NATHAN
AUGUST 9, 2017

Before he was lifted late in the fourth quarter, Deshaun Watson completed 15 of 25 passes for 179 yards. He also rushed three times for 24 yards, including a 15-yard scoring scamper in the third quarter.

Beyond the pure numbers, it was clear the rookie was comfortable sitting back in the pocket and picking apart the Panthers secondary without rushing throws, as B/R's Matt Miller observed:

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah and Steve Mariucci also came away impressed by the former Clemson Tigers signal-caller:

...alright DeShone Kizer. Let's see the fire tonight.

Watson was third string tonight... I actually watched some of that crap. Don't get too worked up over the classic rookie buzz from the media.

Absolutely. Going against third string defenses for a talented young quarterback.... they should slice and dice them up.

I'm just saying, Kizer will be in a similar position tonight playing a lot of snaps against future roster-cuts on defense. I'd like to see him look how he's supposed to look.

I remember Brady Quinn's first preseason game when he looked good.

Here are all of his plays from last night. To me the same problems still arise. He seems to love to only look at one side of the field when throwing the ball. Once DB's catch on to that it's going to be pick city.

His velocity definitely doesn't look like any sort of problem though. Downfield accuracy is an issue. He moved really well though and looks fast when taking off out of the pocket.

He did look pretty good. Interesting to see how that translates going forward.

Lost in all of the Watson hype was how the starters played in limited action. I read something like DA had a perfect QB rating against that allegedly elite defense, and that Savage sucked. Savage's problems could be their O-line too, but that's not going to help Watson's learning curve.

Pretty crazy to think the only Browns top 10 pick in 2018 will be from the Texans.

I am not 100% opposed to that in a way since that means the Browns improved a lot and Kizer/whoever is at QB really showed up.
