J.T. Barrett's passing yards the last five games:

Oklahoma - 84
Indiana - 304
Clemson - 127
Michigan - 124
Michigan State - 86

Two losses against elite teams. A near loss to Michigan State. A double OT-win against Michigan. And a win against a cupcake with a monster game from our RB.

What needs to change?

Cardale Jones tore up 3 good/great defenses in 2014, then all of a sudden struggled against Hawaii and NIU in 2015 and was benched.

QBs "regressing" is a problem at OSU, at it seems to have started when Tom Herman left.

I have a theory about this.

I think because JT had so much success making reads with packaged plays in his freshman season, I think OSU changed to a more pro style system where the QB has to read the whole field. I don't think the plays necessarily changed, they just opened up both sides of the field.

I think a combination of receivers struggling to gain separation and JT not able to process the game fast enough creates a situation where JT is hesitant and scared to release the ball.

I have no theories on why his accuracy has been so erratic other than rushing his throws because he knows he's running out of time on his reads

I still think JT should be replaced but, if Urban insists on keeping him under center, I think going back to a single read spread offense might speed things up for JT.

In times like these, it's important to remember that JT will make an excellent candidate for the Enterprise Rent A Car Management Training program.

One more loss you might bench him if you have some else in the wings.. but the loss is to a top 5 team..

I have never drunk the barrett koolaid. But he is what we led with...

If JT Barrett doesn't shine today, then there is a real problem. These are Spring Game conditions.

Yea that game ends it. Debate is just over now.

Curious how OptimusPrime was nowhere to be found on Saturday. Wonder why that would be?
