Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Physically hate everything about this team. Also don't care about Westbrook averaging a tripple double, he's not the MVP if he can't have at least one above average performance against this Golden State team that results in a win. Literally every time OKC has faced Golden State this season Westbrook has honestly looked shook and been thoroughly outplayed and in some cases embarrassed.

I was thinkign westbrook had improved his mvp standing with his offense, but look at tonight - he'll probably get another triple double (which is impressive) but he's a game worst -25 after 3 quarters. The team has been worse with him on the floor, even while potentially getting a triple double.

This is why I think his "amazing triple double" streak is less impressive than it should be. If he sacrifices defense to the point where he is the worst player on the floor +/- wise, and his team loses by 30, whats the point of his triple doubles?

This is why LeBron has had the good sense to not actively try to average a tripple double and why the fact that he recently almost is anyway while shooting ridiculous percentages from the field and three all while spending majority of the season without starters and key players due to injuries and keeping the team first in the East combined with the fact that the team looks like a YMCA rec team when LeBron doesn't play, and that is why LeBron is the MVP.

Its one game where he's been negative. That is certainly not the case for the season. Good grief.

Westbrook is 32nd in the league in +/-

12 spots below Kyrie Irving, 14 spots below Kevin Love, 25 spots below Harden, and 27 spots below Lebron James (who ranks 5th in the league)

Sure, its a flawed stat, because it depends on other players on the floor, but still..

For every 36 minutes Westbrook plays, his team goes up by +3.8 pts. That's 80th in the league.

Some random players by comparison (their average +/- per 36 minutes:)

Ian Clark +2.4
Tristan Thompson +2.8
Markieff Morris +3.8
J.R. Smith +3.9
Marcin Gortat +4.0
Richard Jefferson +4.2
LaMarcus Aldridge +4.4
Gordon Hayward +5.0
Corey Brewer +5.1
Kyrie Irving +5.5
James Harden +5.8
Rudy Gobert +6.2
Kawhi Leonard +6.8
LeBron James +7.2
Kevin Love +8.0
Patty Mills +8.9
Chris Paul +9.6

In other words, the other team scores a lot when he's playing and putting up huge numbers.

God damnit I actually think McGee can make a positive impact in the finals

What are the fucking odds

No way - he is too routinely lost on defense. He has no chance against smart pick and roll players surrounded by the kind of spacing the Cavs have.

Westbrook's inability to even keep a single game vs GS close will hurt his MVP narrative, fair or unfair.

At least Baron Davis helped us get ONE against the Heat. And we were overall terrible.

Baron is also the only player who managed to ever get Ryan Hollins to look like a useful NBA player.

Never forget...

In that article they described Warriors fans at that time as being tough and being nothing but scar tissue.

My how things have changed...

Lol Baron Davis gave 0 fucks about being in Cleveland. No one wears #85 unless you give absolutely no shits....

#85 was the street his grandparents raised him on and his memories of them as well. I can't agree about giving no shits about the number. It was new life for him. He was deteriorating on LA and his career was coming to an end.
