Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You get way too wound up about shit that has a 0% chance of happening

take a deep breath and relax. It's just basketball and no, Davis will not be a Warrior
No, but he will probably be a Celtic sometime in the next five years.

I have to say i am taking great gratification out of GSW's recent struggles. 41- 13 is by far the worst mark since Kerr took over. They are on Pace for "just" 62 wins. Now sure not bad objectively but its GSW... they have set the standard so high. 6-4 in the last 10 and their Defensive Rating for the season has dropped to 11th.. also by far the worst mark since Kerr took over.

Sure all that could be just RS boredom.. but they are building bad habbits now as Kerr himself said..you dont want do drag those into the Playoffs.

Last night was not regular season boredom

They played their hardest at home and got thwomped

Last years Warriors or this years Warriors, I chuckle every time I see someone here post that this is the GOAT team. Talent wise? Eh maybe, but they play a gimmick offense that until three years ago was seen as one that couldn't win it all in this league. Well it still can't... unless of course the roster consists of three of the greatest shooters that ever lived and here we are. Good perimeter defenders and take away their second shots and see how well this jump shooting offense works.

Problem is everyone else is going small trying to copy their model and it only makes it that much easier on them. People will disagree i'm sure, but I think the 96 Bulls would absolutely suffocate this team and turn them into Durant iso's and at that point it's over. Curry wouldn't breathe with Jordan on him and I like Harper just fine on Klay. Can't think of many defenders better i'd want on Durant than Pippen and it would be hilarious to see how badly Rodman gets into Draymond's head. They certainly wouldn't be getting the second shots they're used to after those highly contested threes.

The Bulls would be smart enough to know they cannot outgun the Warriors, but I doubt it would take more than five, six games to beat their jump shooting offense with defense and proper game planning. You do not run with this team. Limit possessions, defend and make it ugly and they're certainly beatable.

This is just so, so wrong. Couldn't even finish the post because of how terrible that take is.

Every time this thread gets bumped I hope it's because Durant or Steph shredded their knees.

I'm hoping for the trifecta. But only in their last game against Houston in the dying embers as they win leaving the Cavs to face Draymond Green, Andre Igoudala and Shaun Livingston. We still haven't had a series where 66% of their best players were injured. Need to tie it up 2/2 in the finals with them and have an epic 5th series before they crumble into oblivion because of LeBron.

They look beatable this year. It could be that they're tired of the regular season and are just coasting through, but maybe not. They should actually be challenged in the West this year too. All we need is a little injury luck on our side...

Beating them when they're at full strength would be epic though. Make draymond call up reinforcements in the parking lot again :chuckle:

The Bulls up match up nicely against the death lineup in terms of defense: probably go something like Rodman/Kukoc/Harper/Pippen/Jordan but man against modern NBA Thibodeau based defense I would have hard time believing the Warriors even with Jordan would make it very difficult for them to score. No spacing at all between Rodman and Harper. You bring in Kerr for spacing and then Warriors goes bonkers isolating him against anyone.

Still baffling to this day that George Karl didn't put Payton onto Jordan earlier in that series and they were able to muck up Jordan and the Bulls offense even though after Payton they had a big dropoff in the quality of guys they could throw at Jordan

As I've said before, if it's a gimmick offense that wins titles, then everyone should be running.

But if only THEY can run it, then guess what? It's not a gimmick.

But so far, this regular season, they aren't as good as they were the last two years. Iguodala hasn't been good, Pachulia has been awful, Nick Young isn't as good as Ian Clarke was for them last year.

They're more beatable than last year and if the Rockets get home court, it's a 50-50 series.
